I believe to their current Terms of Service (Feb 2014) the limit is still 5.

My question - why a limit? Only one person can be logged onto their Vudu account at a time (just like Netflix, Amazon, etc.) so who cares how many devices have Vudu on them? I am quite confused at this annoying device limit. It makes no reasonable sense.

          Any thoughts!

          Thanks, Outspoken1

The device limit is 8. Could you post where you're seeing the 5 limit so we can update?

There is no login limit, but there's a device limit because they don't want you to setup your account with all your friends on their devices and share your movies. And there can be no more than 3 streams from one account at the same time.

It's in the Terms of Service at http://www.vudu.com/termsofservice.html (linked from the bottom of every Vudu page). I bolded the terms inconsistent with what appears to be the current limit of 8 devices & 3 streams:

                Device Limits:

You may link up to five (5) VUDU Devices to your VUDU Account in order to view Content (each, a ?Linked Device?), provided such Linked Device may only by linked to a single VUDU Account at a given time. [NOTE: Computers that stream content via the Internet are not required to be linked to your VUDU Account and will not be considered a ?Linked Device?; provided, however that any computer that is used to download Content via the VUDU2Go service will require a link to your VUDU Account and will be considered a ?Linked Device.?] You may not concurrently stream or view content to more than two (2) Linked Devices at any given time.

Thanks for clearing that up. I noticed that myself in the past, even though I already have six officially counted devices (PC with VuduToGo, PS3, smart TV, Google TV, Android phone & tablet) -- not counting BlueStacks (Android emulator on PC) where I once had Vudu installed or an old hand-me-down iPhone with the Vudu Player app.

Apparently this has been changed back to 5 and 2 streaming.
8 devices with 3 streaming was perfect, but with 5 and 2 it bites big time. Why the change? People have a ton of devices these days.

Although our TOS confirm what you're saying, it's not true. You can still add 8 devices to your account.

                          Thanks!

                          And stream 3?

Sorry to be a pain. I was having problems and had to remove a 5th device to get another on there. It could have been a fluke, but I want to be sure that we can stream 3 as well (do that a lot).

Hmm. This begs the question then, why does the TOS not match reality? Especially since this discrepancy has been in place for more than a few months?
