Why are some older movies not on Vudu, Google Play, or Amazon?

Some of my older favorite movies are not on either of these services? I am wishing we could purchase or add the following via disc to digital:

    Frequency (Jim Caviezel)
    The Sixth Sense
    Armageddon
    Enemy of the State

Why does some of these older movies never found on any digital services? Is it that the movie studio decided against it? I am wishing I could get all my movies added primarily through Vudu.

I too would like to have Armageddon and Frequency. Maybe even Enemy of the State. There are so many others that I am still waiting on. Here are just a few that I am wanting:

    Gremlins
    Mrs. Doubtfire
    Iron Eagle
    Overboard
    Phenomenon
    Romancing The Stone
    Rope (Hitchcock)
    Short Circuit
    10 to Midnight
10 Things I Hate About You
    When Harry Met Sally
    City Slickers
    Willow
    The Waterboy
    Dreamer (2005)
    WarGames
Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter Is Dead
    Shoot To Kill (1988)
    D.O.A. (1988)

      Two words...Touchstone Disney.
I'd love to know Disneys plan for getting the Touchstone and BVHE titles to the digital consumer. The Disney Movies Anywhere service is a big hit with owners of their Animated Disney/Pixar movies and Disney labeled live-action (Prince of Persia, Sorcerer's Apprentice, etc), but it only works on titles released with a digital copy. As far as I can tell, none of the Touchstone library had Digital Copies when they came out on Bluray, and if they did, they certainly didn't have DMR codes. I sent them feedback requesting that they add their subsidiaries' films to DMA.

If Disney adds support for the catalogue of films targeted at adults to DMA and they make Vudu a provider, I will be asking for these same titles. If I must repurchase them to get a digital copy, I'd prefer to do it through Vudu.

I understand what you are saying, but we already have MANY Disney titles available for purchase on Vudu and there are still a few others (Armageddon being one) that are missing. Let's assume that Disney never joins UV. That shouldn't mean that Vudu cannot sell Disney movies the same way that Amazon and other retailers can. What is strange is that none of the UV retailers currently offer Armageddon for non-UV purchase or for rent.

My real thought there is that Papa Disney is just too lazy to get a good digital transfer to offer providers (I didn't check iTunes for any of these), as there has never been a digital copy released, which I presume makes the process easier (they already have the digital master lying around).

Armageddon is one I am waiting on too. Vudu's foreign film library needs some big gaps filled in as well.

            Here are a few:
            1. "Run Lola Run" (1998) german
            2. "The Banquet" aka "Curse of the Black Scorpion" (2006) mandarin

Still, I think it is important to remember that once Bluray Disc vanquished HD-DVD and became the sole HD optical disc format, it did not immediately have every title of every studio available. In fact, there is still a large slice of the catalog title pie that is not available in bluray disc format a decade later.

I would love to see more classic horror & cult sci fi on Vudu.. Particularly from 70's & 80's, and less $4.99 public domain garbage that come from echelon studios.
