    Home Alone 1+2/Edward Scissorhands

I have early releases of all these films on blu ray. Are the current encodes for these films the remastered versions or the same as the original blu rays? Wondering if I should use d2d for these.

    Re: Home Alone 1+2/Edward Scissorhands

I didn't realize Home Alone had a remastered version until last week, and I was wondering the same thing. Since I have all 3 of these titles in Vudu, I'd love to know the answer to that question too.

      Re: Home Alone 1+2/Edward Scissorhands

Just got Home Alone on digital, and using caps a holic as a reference, it looks like the digital version is the same as the old master. I've been told that Edward Scissorhands is not the remastered version, but the original master that was first released on blu ray. Given that's it's been nearly two years with no new encode for these titles, I'm guessing there are a lot of catalog titles on Vudu that use dated transfers. I haven't had a chance to check Goodfellas yet, but I'm sure the transfer is the same as the first blu ray that I already own. I also checked Home Alone on Fandangonow (using the web based player since my Sony TV and blu ray only support the Vudu app) and they use the old transfer as well.

It was slightly deceptive in this case because both Edward Scissorhands and Home Alone feature brand new cover art that's on the new blu rays.

I did mention in the original post that Home Alone 2 had been remastered for blu ray, but it looks like I was mistaken. As far as D2D goes, I haven't been able to sign into the app since that original post. Frustrating to say the least.
