    Also,
is audio early or late? If audio is early you can probably adjust the settings in your amp to add delay.

      Re: Samsung BD-C6900 audio problem

The audio is late, so I can't do anything with "delay" on my receiver.

      My setup is this:

I have a 2010 Pioneer Receiver with 5 HDMI devices plugged in and a single HDMI out to my Sharp 55" LCD TV. All audio and video is through HDMI connections.

I have two devices with "streaming" capabilities: a Roku box and my Samsung Blu-Ray player. Since Vudu is only available on the Samsung device, I'll limit description of problems to that device.

The Vudu service consistently experiences audio sync problems. I have limited myself to three specific movies -- all in preview mode, the first two minutes of the actual film, across all three formats (HDX, HD and SD) -- and there is an audio sync problem 90% of the time. The audio is always "late," i.e., the mouth moves followed by the sound. The three movies I am using as "tests" are "Due Date" (it opens with Robert Downey Jr. dialog in an up-close facial shot), "The Social Network" (which open with a dialog between two people at a bar/restaurant) and "The Other Guys" (limited opening dialog, but very noticeable in the "trailer"). Although I have a credit on my account for a "free rental," I have been hesitant to "cash it in" because I'm not confident that it will be any different than what I see in the "free preview" mode.

I'm sure there are a number of alternate configurations I can try, such as HDMI for video and optical digital for audio rather than HDMI for both audio and video, but I am reluctant to try that because I don't have this audio sync problem on ANY other streaming video service through the Samsung device, which are all input/output in the same way. I have both Netflix and HuluPlus, which both offer streaming movies, and there is no audio sync problem. Similarly with Blockbuster and CinemaNow (at least from what I am able to view). Since Vudu is part of the same application package, I can't make sense out of why Vudu seems, uniquely, to have an audio sync problem. Even MLB streams successfully, in both live and archive games.

I wish I had another device that offered Vudu so I could see if the same problem exists, which would narrow things down to, possibly, something at the network/ISP level. I don't know what else to try. Amazon movies stream successfully (as do HuluPlus and Netflix) on the Roku box, but I realize that doesn't mean anything since Vudu is only on the Samsung. The video and audio quality of Vudu is so superb that I really wish this could be made to work. But, it's not like I don't have access to streaming movies at an "acceptable" quality.

I'm willing to try whatever you suggest. A telephone CSR gave me case number 127767 and suspected my problems might have something to do with my ISP, ATT Uverse. Because ATT provides its own router which is also used to stream TV services, I can't change DNS entries to, perhaps, get a better "route" to your servers.

      I'm kind of "stuck."

        Re: Samsung BD-C6900 audio problem

Exact same problem here with my Samsung C6900. The Audio only comes out the Left Speaker. DVDs, Netflix, etc. work perfectly. The problem has been isolated to the Vudu/Samsung BD player.

Interestingly, in another room I have a Samsung C6900W Home Theater system and that Audio works OK with Vudu.

Looking to a quick solution. Please keep us posted.

          Re: Samsung BD-C6900 audio problem

I went through all the runaround of learning how to install a router with the Uverse device as the gateway, thus enabling me to define DNS addresses other than the unchangeable default provided by ATT. I chose the Verizon DNS servers (4.2.2.x) but, unfortunately, this did not correct the sync problem with Vudu. Do you have any suggestions, e.g., DNS servers that might provide a more direct route to the Vudu servers?

It is still the case that the other video services provided by Samsung do not have the same sync issues.

Problems with DD on samsung equipment

            TV Samsung UN46C9000
            Blue Ray Samsung BD-C6900
            Surround Sound logitech z 5500

blue ray is run HDMI 1.4 to TV (Optical to surround sound)
Computer is run HDMI 1.4 to TV (direct input to computer)
DirectTV is run HDMI 1.4 to TV (digital coax to DirecTV)

First let me start with The system operation. Everything plays properly through the computer, DirecTV, and Blue Ray (when using a BD disk) Audio quality is perfect and sound comes from the proper speakers. Voices from the center when they should be effects from surrounds when it should be and so on. The surround sound system has been installed for 3 years with the only change being the addition of a TV and BD in September.

Two or three weeks ago I registered for VUDU to watch a movie and DD would not register at all on the receiver so I watched the movie in stereo (bummer). I read on the forums that it was a known problem with samsung software not properly decoding the DD from VUDU. I passed it off in hopes it would be fixed in time since it seemed like it was being acknowledged by VUDU. I tried it again to see if it was taken care of and WOW the reciever switched over to DD... but something didn't sound right. voices were very low (volume) and only coming from the RF speaker not the center like they should be during dialog. The effects also seemed to have a low volume on the rear speakers as well. It is a bit tough to tell for sure though since I can only run a preview to test on, by that I mean I am not going to pay for a service with the audio not working properly. I know this is not a problem in my equipment because it does not do this with a BD disk on the BD player I am running from. I have not tried running VUDU from the TV (via the samsung apps software) with optical going from the TV to the surround sound. The way it is setup today when I tried it is playing VUDU from the BD with optical from that directly to the surround sound.

any thoughts or advice is welcome.

I have no dates for a fix yet. Will keep you posted.

              Thanks for reporting the issue.

Any news on the Vudo left-speaker-only output through Samsung BD-C6900 player yet? My player has the latest firmware and it's still a (big) problem. Thanks

All I know for sure is that Samsung Engineering has fixed the issue. What version are you running right now? What did Samsung's customer support say?

The player states that it's the latest - BSP-C6900WWB-1019.0

Is that the latest and greatest?

                    Re: Samsung BD-C6900 audio problem

See post 20 for my hardware setup.

I revisited VUDU so see if the audio issues were resolved with my samsung 6900. They are not. center chnl audio is still being sent through the RF speaker. I did verify software version to be the current BSP-C6900WWB-1019.0 (current software version) and it is on my blueray player. I pulled up some older movies and audio does display properly. I assume it is a different audio format on the particular movie I previewed. I tried a few of the new movies on the front page and they are still not working properly.

                      Re: Samsung BD-C6900 audio problem

Yes, the issue only happens to DD+ audio. DD is fine.
Samsung is working on a new release. 1019.0 does not have the audio fix.

Unfortunately they do not force updates, so you have to manually check for available updates. I will update this thread when I have more details.
