Re: What type of display are you guys watching Vudu on?

My Vudu is hooked up to a Sony KDS-55A2000 55" SXRD RPTV (Sony's proprietary LCOS engine). I bought my TV a year too soon though, since the next model year can handle 1080p/24 instead of only 1080p/60. Of course Sony has stopped making RPTVs all together now.

The last TV I bought, a Panasonic CT32-SF36A was the last Panasonic 32" without a set of Component Inputs. I always buy one model year too soon!

SD is what I occassionally watch on my VUDU. I was up to 95% HD watching until I got my VUDUs. Then my HD watching dropped to 90% and SD rose to 10%.

But since the Vudu upconverts to 720p, 1080i or 1080p, are you really watching it in "SD"? It's really the same as some of the TV programming out there. You may be watching it on an HD channel but is the program itself in HD?

When I talk about HD, I'm talking about the program being in HD. Even back in 2001, almost half the Tv programs I watched were actually in HD. I rarely watch an upconverted program on TV any more.

And if it's an SD program on the VUDU, I will have my external scaler do the processing to 1080P.

It ties directly to my home LAN. Works pretty cool. I have enough bandwidth off the DSL service (6 meg) to view HDX content without problems.
