I am new to these forums, but every reply I am submitting does not get posted to the thread. I own an 850d which is listed as a 2016 model, but the Google Play Store says my device is incompatible when I follow the link provided.

It took a few days before my first post was approved and posted. They want to make sure you are not a spambot.

Try going into the Google Play Store on your Sony TV and and search for the Vudu app.

This is one of the top issues (occasional buffering on otherwise good connection) that will be fixed in the next release (hopefully mid May) and why this is considered a "beta".

It?s been mentioned enough but thought I?d add my 2 cents. I?m getting buffering on all my Dolby Vision streams. I?m hardwired and have a 150 internet speed. This is on my Sony 75x940E.

              Awesome! Thanks for the update!

And I have to really give your team props.....the Android app on my 930e makes DV titles look gorgeous!! Being a Sony owner, I was limited to the Apple TV for DV........and honestly I was never really impressed. Never gave me the WOW over regular HDR. It wasn't until this Android app where I really saw the difference. Even sat the wife down to do a test and she agreed that the Android app blew away the same via the ATV.

I agree. The android Vudu DV is great. I was just comparing it to DV on the Apple movies app and The new Vudu 4K DV app on the Apple TV and my Sony Vudu is brighter and has much more pop to the picture. Great job team Vudu. Also I have yet to experience any buffering yet but I will keep you posted. I?m currently running at 500mbs + download speeds hard wired to my x930e.

I searched for it on the TV as well as my phone and laptop, but nothing seems to be working. I wonder if the beta is only for the 2017 E series Sony 4k's. I did notice that Google Play recognizes my 850d as "Sony Bravia 2015" but the D models are from 2016.

Closed captions in this app show up too soon. The text shows up before the audio. At least it does on Thor Ragnarok.

Same problem with me I have the 940D and it says on GP store that it's a 2015 model and it's a 2016 one. If you search it from the TV in the GP store it doesn't even find VUDU.

Some more feedback on beta....Watched Justice League DV and it stopped about 20 minutes in and tv kicked into screensaver mode (chromecast picture with time) I exited, pressed play and movie finished fine....I have Sony A1E and 1 gig uverse internet....I'am totally greatful to team vudu for getting this beta out to us and looking forward to the official release app.

Also, when the new app gets released will this beta be deleted so we don't have 2 vudu apps in our GUI? Thanks.

That's odd - so to ask/summarize - you were casting to you Sony TV vs running the Android TV app? (totally different code base). And it wasn't "buffering", etc but kicked you out to the Chromecast screen and you had to restart? As I mentioned, using the Android TV app is actually completely different from the cast app - eventually I would think the native app will give the best experience.

As far as the 2 apps - basically... the Sony TV app has been a "native" non-Android TV app built into the TV. Vudu is moving to a full Android TV app that will allow more frequent updates and features, but there will be an overlap where both the old and new app are present.

Was using the beta app on tv....Movie just stopped, no buffering and kicked tv into the screensaver mode.Once I exit sreensaver movie finished fine....Also I was watching one of the extra's from Justice league in HDX and again it stopped and tv went into screensaver mode....Both issues were not buffering but just a complete stop and screensaver from the tv popped up.

I?m glad someone else is experiencing the same issues with the D series Sony 4k?s. Hopefully somone on the development team will see this and help to resolve the issue.
