Re: Vudu To Go Screen blank when Maximized

More than 3 years has gone by and the same problem still exists across 3 different computers. It's unbelievable that this bug hasn't been fixed yet. It's really beyond embarrassing for Vudu: First in 2013/2014 on my Dell XPS15 running Windows 7, then in 2015 (until now) on my Dell XPS13 (still happens) running Windows 8.1, then 2015/2016 on my Alienware 18 running Windows 10- happens every time. I mean, I've had like 5 girlfriends during that time and all of them have complained about it. I think one of them even left me because it took so long to watch a movie. It was either that or the fact that I have an Alienware and I'm 46 years old. Whatever...

Anyhow, since then the Vudu To Go program tries to updates at least 2 times a week. What? Why? You guys make more changes than Obama does executive orders. And then there is Adobe (what a joke) and they send security alerts and updates with more regularity than my morning poo. However, maybe we don't have to worry about about Adobe anymore- I just heard that Hillary Clinton has some free time and has offered Adobe a more secure solution somewhere. We'll see.

Anyway- as for Vudu To Go, EVERY time I want to watch any program in full screen, I must first open Vudu to Go, then start the video, then wait 30 seconds, then close the video, then wait 30 seconds, then open the video again, then wait 30 seconds, then make it full screen. If I don't wait long enough in between steps each time, the "Buffering" icon will remain on the screen during playback and never disappear- except for the RARE occasion when the "Buffering" icon DOES disappear- only to be replaced by the Vudu "Thinking"/clock/circle/thingy, which also remains during playback over the video, and won't disappear. Occasionally, when I'm really, really, lucky- BOTH icons will remain over the video and never disappear. So annoying. If either of these two icons appear in their "stuck" mode, I must REBOOT my computer because simply closing and opening the Vudu to Go program again will not resolve it. That's ok though- rebooting my computer usually gives me enough time to go outside and slam my head in the car door a few times. And just for the record, the word "Buffering" is just about my least favorite word in English. It reminds me of a car wash- and I work at one. Please change it.

Oh, ya- and get this- If I REALLY feel like going crazy, I attempt to watch a video on Vudu To Go in a format other than HDX (like in HD/SD). Ya- it's so nuts. Here's the process: First I must open Vudu to Go, then open a video, then wait 30 seconds, then close the video, then wait 30 seconds, then open the video, then wait 30 seconds, then choose HD/SD, then wait 30 seconds, then go to full screen, (then pray for no stuck "Buffering" icons). If I do get the stuck "Buffering" icons, then I need to first pick up all the stuff I just threw around my room in anger, then close the program, then restart computer, then poke myself in the eye a few times while the computer boots up, then open Vudu to Go, then open a video, then wait 30 seconds, then close the video, then wait 30 seconds, then open the video, then wait 30 seconds, then choose HD/SD, then wait 30 seconds, then go to full screen, (then pray for no stuck "Buffering" icons.) If the stuck icons are there once again, I typically just take a quiet moment to breathe, then I hit myself over the head with the rolled-up Welcome mat I bought at Walmart, all the while yelling a certain "maternal-themed" expletive as loud as I can 8 times. And, oh- I know what you're thinking now- "Why don't you just watch the movie through the flashing Icons, silly?" Ya. That's a good call. I've tried that, but it gives me seizures, and yelling that loud makes my left eye wander a bit, and things get blurry- which is all fine for watching the Kardashians- but sucks for Deadpool.

BTW, if reading the detail I've provided seems annoying to all you Vudu helper/techie/peoples, I assure you it's not half as annoying as picking coconut fiber out of my forehead every time I want to watch one of the 342 videos I've purchased in full screen. Ya. 342. Check my account and do the math. That's like, $500 hundred bucks or something that I've spent at Vudu. Wait. I'm doing the math....Wow...um....(carry the 1) Hole-E-cow! I just determined that, at an average of $12 per purchase, that's $4104 I've spent just on Vudu! I mean geez, now I now why rent is so hard to pay, cuz combined with my Alienware purchase, that's like more than half my yearly salary- and I was banking on Bernie making it to the White House because with him in there my salary would probably quatriple- but he obviously didn't make it. Anyway, the point is, you should feel pretty embarrassed- especially since I've spent like 6 or 9 months of my salary on Vudu.

Please let me know how you plan to fix this issue soon.

PS- Yes, I've uninstalled/reinstalled the VtG program- many times. Yes I've updated Flash- I can't count how many times. Yes, I've tried to watch through the browser- and it works through my browser, yes- but the whole point of Vudu To Go is that I should be able to watch movies WITHOUT using my neighbor's wifi connection.

Re: Vudu To Go Screen blank when Maximized

Now I have an issue where I'll open full screen to watch a movie, then after about 2 minutes it will minimize itself and stop playing completely. This is more than a little aggravating.

EDIT: This is not on Vudu 2 Go. This is on Vudu's website itself.

Re: Vudu To Go Screen blank when Maximized

I also have this issue. Every time I maximize a movie in VUDU to go the first time it only maximizes to a blank screen with audio. All I have been doing for years now is I maximize a movie I am NOT intending to watch so that I may them close it when it goes to the blank screen. I then open the one I actually want to watch and it will work fine. This has been an ongoing issue that I believe they have no intention of fixing :/ It is very aggravating indeed. I have sent support requests that have never been answered. I have up dated the Adobe AIR many times as well as reinstalled VUDU To Go. This is an ongoing issue on ALL of my PCs that I have VUDU To GO on. I would think they would want their product to work correctly but as this has been happening for YEARS on end I have begun to think they care not that this happens.

AGAIN: It is on all movies that I launch on the first maximize when using VUDU To Go. The second one I select always works fine. 3rd one too is fine and so on. ONLY the 1st movie to be maximized does it.

I will ask one more time... VUDU .... PLEASE FIX THIS :/
