Vudu App not playing movies on my Vizio TV (P65-C1)

I've had this problem for a couple of months, hoping it was going to "fix itself", but doesn't appear to be the case, so proactively looking for some help. Worked fine for 6 months and then all of a sudden after navigating to MyVudu and selecting a movie to "start over" or "resume", I get a blue screen and the message "Hang on a sec, sorry we had an unexpected lack of attention" and app crashes out back to my Vizio Smartcast menu. Netflix, Amazon Prime work fine on this tv.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Stefan.

        Hello Everyone,

If it's possible could you gather some information for us so that we can help troubleshoot?

We would like to see your Firmware version. Press Menu>System>System Info>Version

Launch Vudu and head to settings. What is your Widget and player versions?

Another thing would be to update your smartcast and give it another try. To update the smart hub do the following:

        - Change input to HDMI1, wait 60 secs, and change back to SmartCast.
        - Do a soft power cycle (MENU > System > Reset & Admin > Soft Power Cycle)
        - Unplug, wait 60 secs, plug back in and start.
        - Launch Vudu and try and reproduce the issue.

If you're still able to reproduce this issue after trying these steps, could you send me a picture of the error message?

I also cannot stream Vudu on my Vizio TV. I've done all of the things you said to try, plus I reset my modem and router.

Version on my Vizio TV is 2.16.15.
          VUDU Widget Version is 40-813c697c
          Player Version is 296645.38

I have used Vudu on my Vizio TV for the last couple of years without a hitch, until recently when Vudu became unusable on my Vizio TV.

For the past month or so, when I try watching a free movie with ads, I keep getting a "Network Error" every time Vudu is trying to load an ad.
All other streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.) work fine with the same setup.

I reset my router and modem as Vudu support suggested, but obviously that's not a problem, since all other streaming services are working fine.
Using Vudu on other devices (Roku, Sony player) in the same home network also works, which clearly indicates an issue between Vudu and Vizio.

            My Vizio TV info:

            TV model E550i_A0
            Version 2.19.7.0608

Was this ever resolved??? I am having similar issues which also evolved from other smaller Vudu issues.

Originally, Vudu video would freeze for a second or two every so often during a movie. Audio would keep playing during that freeze, however.

Now, Vudu will crash and restart when trying to 'resume' a movie. If I try to cast that movie instead of going directly through the app, the movie will cause an error to occur on the TV. The only way to fix it is to open the app on my phone and rewind the movie to the beginning. Then I can play it however I want.

This is happening on all three of my Vizio Smartcast TVs.

Vizio just pushed out an update that may help with this issue. Could you give it a try today and let me know if you're still seeing the problem?

If you do still have the problem, could you please send me the email address you used to create your Vudu account in a private message? I'll need to know the software version running on your TV as well as the Vudu widget version.

                Thanks,

                Dan

The update seems to have broken the VUDU app. It was fine until yesterday when the tv did an update. Now I get an error when I try to pull up a video to watch. I just get a generic "playback error" message. I've tried rebooting the tv, I've tried factory resetting. Nothing works. This is really irritating.

                    Hey CM,

What is the model number for your TV? I will give it a try and see if i'm encountering the same here.

Same here! That last update 3 days ago or so jacked up the VUDU app on my Vizio TV! Any fixes yet?

I am getting the same error message on my Vizio TV recently after an update was downloaded. It is very frustrating because I cannot watch any of the movies I own. I tried a soft power cycle, resetting to factory settings, and disconnecting and reconnecting the Wifi. Nothing has worked. Please help!

I have experienced the same as everyone else. The TV and Vudu app worked fine until the update 3 days ago and now none of my paid for movies will play and the Free with Ads movies won't play. Very frustrating.
