    Thanks,

Dan - I'm in the same boat with my newly purchased Vizio M706-G3 TV.

    Vudu Widget Version:7.3.20
    TV Model Number: M706-G3
    TV Software Version: 2.40.21

Vudu just tries to stream a movie and eventually says "Looks like you're having problems with XXX resolution. Try the next lowest one?" And then repeats regardless of resolution. TV is hardwired. (Also tried WiFi connectivity) Services like Amazon Prime Video work just fine. Hoping you guys can help!

Just wondering, are you resuming playback typically? Or, Are you starting from the beginning? If you're resuming, try to restart the content from the beginning to see if it resolves the issue for you.

I recently started having issues after the latest update also. It varies from getting a message "video player stop working" "There's trouble streaming video" to now it will go to commercial and never start play again.

        ver:4.40.21

It doesn't matter if it is resume playback or starting from the beginning. The movies are NOT playing. Please get this fixed!!

Also, just for context. My LG TV and Samsung Galaxy Note phone still play the movies. This is a Vudu and Vizio issue.

Our Vizio is experiencing the same problem. Reads "Playback Error" when trying to watch anthing. Free movies will play the commercials before the movie, but when the movie is supposed to start, playback error occurs.

Same issue. Seemed to start about 2-3 weeks ago. Works fine on other TVs that are not Vizio. We did get a movie we just purchased to play, but it doesn?t let us play anything we?ve already played.

Another one having the same issue. Just dropped about $35 on some movies as a Christmas gift to myself and I can?t even watch them. More than a little frustrating

widget version: no clue how to find this, sorry. But my tv says it?s fully up to date and last updated 12/10/19

I have followed all the steps you called for in your instructions, Dan H.

I?d take a picture for the re-creation but the forum won?t let me attach the file because it?s too large. My tv version is 4.40.21 and my Vudu player version is 310601.49.

                      Please help?

What's the latest on this? No responses in the last 4 days. It still doesn't work on the Vizio TV. Luckily, I found a work around on casting from my phone. Still annoying though considering that it used to work.

Looks like Vizio released an update that caused this issue you are experiencing. We are hoping Vizio can release a fix for this sometime soon.

I can?t play any movie from Vudu on my Vizio tv. It won?t play and if I try to resume a movie it closes the app. Not to mention I can?t even play 4K movies on my tv with Vudu. I am regretting buying this vizio tv.

I'm interested to know what the widget version you're seeing when you launch Vudu. Currently, there is an issue where a network error is seen after trickplay, but starting playback and resuming shouldn't be an issue. Are you still on widget 7.3.20? The updated app should have resolve that problem. Please let us know the widget version (Settings-->About) in Vudu and if you're still having the same trouble after a hard power cycle.

I should also mention in the meantime, if you cast playback to the TV you shouldn't see the issue. Not convenient, but a work around where you won't run into the issues you're seeing.

                              Thanks,
                              Dan.

If it's possible could you gather some information for us so that we can help troubleshoot?

We would like to see your Firmware version. Press Menu>System>System Info>Version

Launch Vudu and head to settings. What is your Widget and player versions?

Another thing would be to update your smartcast and give it another try. To update the smart hub do the following:

                                - Change input to HDMI1, wait 60 secs, and change back to SmartCast.
                                - Do a soft power cycle (MENU > System > Reset & Admin > Soft Power Cycle)
                                - Unplug, wait 60 secs, plug back in and start.
                                - Launch Vudu and try and reproduce the issue.

If you're still able to reproduce this issue after trying these steps, could you send me a picture of the error message?
12-25-2019 ~~ I've followed all of your directions, including the Soft Power Cycle, but haven't had any luck fixing this. I have photos of the error, the app settings, and my vizio tv settings. Trying to attach here. (I can't believe Santa hasn't stopped by to fix this. He should be done with Xmas by now! LOL)

I can see trailers and commercials, but when I try to watch any movie I own, I get a Playback Error message. If I try to watch a "Free with ads" movie, I watch the ads, then I get a Network Error message. See attached.

I also noticed that when I purchased the 4K videos on sale today from Vudu, I got an error message with each one that said I was not set up to watch 4K even though I am and always watch at hi-rez if my connection will allow it.

If there are any other tests you need to help me fix this, please let me know ASAP. I'm using my tablet for now, but I wanna watch TV!

I really hope you can fix this! Lori
