      You've seen a Polish calculator, haven't you?

It's a card board square with 5 holes in it.

You stick your right hand in it and your good to go, no batteries needed.

If you prefer RPN (reverse polish notation) then you use your left hand instead.

It even comes with a memory function. It's a string you can tie on your pinkie finger while using it.

There is a customer support line too, mostly to help those that can't figure out which is their right hand!

(I don't feel bad about talking about Polish people like that, because I'm half Polish myself. So write it off as self-depricating humor)

        Re: IR support

I set up my IR dongle yesterday but didn't get a chance to mess around with my HArmony remote to add it. How is the IR reception? Is it like with most devices when using the HArmony? With most devices i can point my Harmony in ANY direction and it works with the device. Is the VUDU dongle the same way or do I actually have to point the remote at the IR receiver?

I would say its just like your other devices. Point your remote in the general direction and it should work. As long has the eye of the reciever is exposed.

Is there a way to set up two VUDU boxes in the same room with the IR dongle?

That is an interesting question. I know that a lot of boxes like DVR's have a remote id in thier IR stream. I will forward this off to VUDU and see if we can get an answer.

I am assuming you are asking it each VUDU has a dogle can you address individual VUDU's

The IR receiver works very well. I can point my Harmony in ANY direction and the VUDU box receives the commands.

While we wait for an official response, I have a theory.

                  1) You would need to purchase a second dongle.

                  2) Power OFF one unit. Now the power on/off button should jump between controlling the 2 units.

We used to do this for folks with multiple ReplayTV's in the same room.

Yes, this power toggle approach will work.
There is only one set of commands, so if the boxes are in the same room they will both be controlled by the same remote. There is no pairing.

Note that this only works for integers where 1 < "multiple" < 3.

If you walked 6 feet to the first VUDU box, unplugged the dongle, then plugged the dongle into the second box, I believe that would solve the problem for any multiple number of boxes. PLUS, you wouldn't have to buy additional dongles either.

Problem Solved!!! AND I saved you some money!!

(The only downside is that you would have to travel 6 feet back to your original location. So I calculate the total round trip cost to be approx. 12 feet, plus or minus the distance to the second box. That's a tough haul when you're wearing an iron lung)

The dongle rocks! I use it w/ my Harmony One. Very responsive and fast, and the codes were almost immediately in the Logitech dbase. I wonder if a standard IR remote dongle w/ 1/8" connector would have worked also...

I was missing the Vudu remote, because it so well designed and ergonomic, but it inspired an idea. My master br suite shares a wall with the living room where the Vudu box is...So I drilled through the wall, got an HDMI splitter, and split the Vudu signal to between the two rooms (no problem @ 1080p even). The original Vudu remote works great through the wall, and the Harmony One stays in the LR.

Obvious idea, but it took the purchase of the IR dongle and the Vudu remote staring at me, lonely and forelorn. Now I'm rocking 2x the Vudu for the money!

Negative. The Vudu dongle has some special circuitry in it to work with the box. Plugging in other dongles could permanently damage the I/O port on the Vudu. I don't know if there's DC bias on it or what but you don't want to use anything but the Vudu dongle...

Glad you got it working and having fun!
