Any studios that Vudu does not receive movies from?

I've noticed Vudu is getting better at adding HD movies(signed up for the FormarwarCentral weekly update for Apple and Vudu).

Just wondering if any of the MAJOR studios are not on board with Vudu. Saw they added the Bank Job,Ruins and Stop Loss this week, not bad.

The only studio I am aware of is MGM. There have been MGM titles of older movies on the VUDU due to how content is distributed though.

I don't know if ATV has MGM either - maybe?

Well, Im strictly Blu-ray until one of these download service can get more on the ball.

Vudu is obviously trying, might be something for me to revisit 1st qtr of 09.

WHat are there add times generally for HD. Say Iron man just came out, when might you see it? 30 days?

Hmmm...More on the ball? With nearly 10,000 movies and all but one studio, I'd say that's pretty good.

Rentals are available generally 30 days after release on physical media and digital purchase. The only exception is Warner Brothers who does it at the same time.

BTW, Vudu is not meant to replace all your BR and other forms of video entertainment...It's just another tool.

More on the ball means release date and quantity on NEW hd. If they want to keep making bluray claims, they should back it up.

Id love to swap to Vudu and use the new HDX solely. If they get to a point where HDX movies are out around 30 days from all major studios, Ill pick one up.

Hmm...New movies are all released on the release date and rentable 30 days thereafter. I don't know of a movie from a studio they care that is recent that has not come to Vudu.

So Vudu is going to have 30 days after from all but one major. That probably covers 90% of the movies unless you primarily like stuff from MGM...

I don't know what you mean about Blue-Ray claims. The HDX format for Vudu just came out today and so yeah, the catalog is small right now but will grow significantly over time...

Why not get a Vudu now and enjoy it for the majority of what you do watch. If it saves you from renting or buying a DVD for 90% of the movies, isn't it worth it?

                      Its a consideration.

I'll give it a little time to see what happens.

After just dealing with the HDDVD/BR war, Im not inclined to be a early adopter of anyting else right now.

That's fine. Vudu has been out over a year now and continues to improve the product with more and more features. They'll be around when you are ready to buy...

For some people (like me) Vudu was a way to steer clear of the HDDVD/BR war.

I've enjoyed it very much ever since I bought mine last October. It's right up there with the first Tivo I ever bought - it's changed the way I watch movies. It even stopped me from collecting DVDs and trying to establish a DVD Jukebox of my own - there's no need now.

I understand your points though and everyone has different needs. I love my Vudu and it works perfectly for my needs.

I looked and MGM doesnt offer a lot to miss, but there are some.

Just going from two boxes to one, I dont want to add another. Ill def keep my eye on vudu though.
