      I'm all out!!

Between VUDU and Directv offerings, I haven't found a movie I wanted from Netflix in over 4 months.

I think the last one I rented from Netflix that I actually enjoyed was the lastest Ghost in the Shell season.

Although I have a BR player I've found that it would takes weeks to get the BR version from Netflix after the title was released to DVD. So I would just end up getting the DVD version instead, just so I could watch it.

Since I bought my BR about 2 years ago, I would have to say I've only been able to watch a very limited set of titles on it. And the ones I did watch on BR, I found the PQ to be grainy sometimes, tracking problem, and other various issues. So I can say that I've never really had a WOW experience yet with BR.

Content Availability & PQ/SQ are my two hot buttons for happiness. And VUDU is making great inroads for both.

Hodge, your situation is identical to mine.

Only thing I could stand to miss from Netflix is tv shows, BUT, Ive supplemented that with Amazon unbox.

I am almost there myself. If it wasn't for the kids movies that weren't available on the VUDU I would be in the same spot....

            Re: HDX Movies?!

I could be bonkers but I was searching movies by genre today and it appears at some point they fixed one of my big pet peeves.

When I scroll down the search results list, it now appears to show all the info that I always complained that was missing, i.e. sound and picture quality, without having to hit enter to see it.

I don't know when this was done and I don't know if even anyone knows what I'm talking about, but it's really great.

Now I'm on an Easter Egg hunt, to find out what else has changed.

I ordered 4 HDX movies today.

While browsing I found 2 MGM movies: "The Usual Supspects" and "The Terminator".

One was HD the other HDX, but both in stereo. That's just criminal.

I "own" The HD Experience. Great movie, recommended viewing.

Now is there anyway to "UnOwn" it?

If there is, can I get an account credit for it? I paid $0.00 for it.

I think if you archive or delete it, your account will be incremented by $0.00. Try it and prove me wrong.

I "own" 3 movies, 2 Bourne movies, and the Experience HDX.

I don't see a way to archive or delete any of them.

Do you think that's true for "Usual Suspects" as well??

You can go into "My VUDU" > "Archive or Delete" to do this.

Basically, the difference is that some studios/contracts permit downloading content you purchased more than once, while others only allow one download for a purchase. I think for the most part independent studios or TV shows can be "archived", while major studio titles can't.

Hopefully that trend will shift some day...

Got it and it worked fine. Guess I was expecting to see this feature in "My Movies", instead of where it's currently located. I also noticed that I have a few rentals in "My Rentals" that I've watched (all HDX!!!) but they don't show up in "Archive or Delete" as an option to remove. I don't know if rentals are meant to be available to delete, but I can see the possibility of having movies I've watched preventing me renting more movies for lack of space on my box. IMO I would recommend moving the "Archive or Delete" icon to the "My Movies" section or allow the "Archive or Delete" icon to allow removing both Rentals and Owned Movies, OR make the "Archive or Delete" an option on a per movie title basis, i.e. somewhere under the "Watch Now" selection of the movie detail options. Regards......

And BTW MaxH, when I deleted the movie it deducted the purchase amount from my account.

I've asked for the ability to delete rented content from the box but it was not seen as something most people would want. I think it would be a good feature because what if you watched a movie your spouse or SO would object to in a major way or that you wouldn't want the kids to see in your list of movies. I think it's a good idea.

In reality, though, the space issue isn't a problem. Even if you "delete" something, it will stay on your box for a while and be served up as part of the P2P network. Same goes for rentals.

Well, as others have pointed out, the original movies were probably just in stereo.

It takes a LOT more to re-master audio tracks to DD5.1 than to take film (which has tons more pixels than even 1080p) and digitize it.
