Re: Walmart's Vudu Joins Disney Movies Anywhere

What an exciting thing to wake up to! Now I have all 70 of my Disney titles in once place, where before I had about half in vudu and half in iTunes. Now I don't have to keep a list of which title is where. Not I just have 3 digital titles that aren't in vudu.

Re: Walmart's Vudu Joins Disney Movies Anywhere

They showed up pretty much instantly for me! As soon as I was done at DMA, I saw Wreck-It Ralph added to my VUDU movies. Although it's interesting that some movies that I own through VUDU only (Captain America: Winter Soldier) have the DMA banner on the bottom. That one does now show up in my DMA account, not that I think I'll ever use it that way.

Now if we could only do D2D for all of the Marvel movies I own on disc...

OK - I worked through the list of discrepancies and it turns out that all missing titles except one were Disney titles that I already owned via VUDU (guess I owned more than I remembered). The only Disney title that I cannot find in VUDU is Peter Pan in Return to Never Land.

I could really care less whether it is HD vs HDX, as I think that is one of the most over hyped things in the world (my bet is most people THINK they see a difference only because they believe they will, I think most people can't tell). Two main attractions for me, when it comes to Roku3, was being able to have them all together, plus the Vudu Roku3 app is far superior to the Google Play one.

To me though, the biggest thing overall was that I wanted my Vudu bought Disney movies to be available in the DMA android app. The DMA android app is clean, fast, and easy to navigate (they also have to worry about handling a lot less movies, so that accounts for some of it). The Vudu app does a lot more, but the fact that it always runs in "landscape" mode is annoying. The movies took much longer to show up in the DMA app than they did the DMA website, but they did eventually show.

No points in DMR for the Vudu bought movies yet.

Also, DMA movies with bonus features do not seem to be keeping the bonus features in Vudu.
I agree if you like your disney titles to be segmented from your larger collection, this event is of no value.

In my case, I prefer all my titles under one provider's suite of playback options. Being able to pillage the older iTunes codes was refreshing.

Re: Walmart's Vudu Joins Disney Movies Anywhere

I am so confused by this system you have with linking Disney Movies Anywhere (DMA) to VUDU. I didn't start transferring my movies to Digital until a few months ago. Even then only SOME of my movies got a DMA copy (like The Incredibles, Tangled 3D, and Up). Other movies only gave me DMR (Disney Movie Rewards) points (The Lion King, Toy Story 1/2, Ratatouille, Cinderella). I linked my DMA and VUDU account but the only movies that transferred over to VUDU were the ones that already had a DMA copy. What about my other movies? No digital version on VUDU for them?

VUDU sorts this title as simply "Return to Neverland," so scroll down and check your titles beginning with R... maybe it's there? (I discovered this today when making sure all of my DMA titles had correctly transferred here.)

Re: Walmart's Vudu Joins Disney Movies Anywhere

Why did the prices jump up? Everything was $14.99 last night, now it's $17.99. Kind of annoying. I'm hoping they have a sale next week or something. I'm holding off on some of the purchases I was going to make. I recall them having a Pixar sale last year around this time. Also, I'm hoping they plan to add titles like Armageddon and The Rock to DMA. They are available to purchase on vudu now, but they don't appear to be DMA compatible.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I like having all the movies available in Vudu...that's nice.

Even better though, I have all of my Disney purchases done on Vudu available to stream through the DMA android app.
So for Roku 3 on my TV, I will use Vudu for the Disney movies. On my phone I will use DMA's app for Disney movies. That makes me happy..lol

Now...if Google Play would sync to Vudu...that would be cool too. I have 2 movies still stuck there.

I have a bunch of TV shows and sports broadcasts on Amazon, but I don't see them coming over anytime soon.

Did relinking DMA and VUDU fix the problem for you? If it didn't, you'll need to contact DMA support.

Disney has full control over the linking and transferring of DMA content.

Just make sure that you're signing into the correct VUDU account when you follow the link process.

When i linked my accounts, all my Disney Vudu titles appeared in DMA instantly, but nothing that was only in DMA ported over to Vudu. I waited several hours, but they still didn't port over. I went to DMA's website and unlinked the accounts and then re-linked them. Then they were in the Vudu library.

I don't have a lot of DMA movies but the ones that I did have (8) wouldn't port over. I did your suggestion and unlinked and then re-linked and the 8 came over to Vudu the 2nd time.
