    Re: Gone Girl not UV?

I suppose we'll be waiting until after the holidays..

P.s. I'm referring to The Drop being uv enabled. I'd think since it comes from fox, it should be.

This makes no sense, Vudu is releasing it early, not Ultraviolet. The digital release date is 1/13/15.

umm the street date is 1/13/15 the digital release date was today for every major streaming service. The whole concept behind UV is to stream the movie. If its a UV movie it should be UV enabled with they release it digitally.

          Re: Gone Girl not UV?

The street date is the release date, if streaming providers decide to release it early, it never means the UV will be available on that early release, this often happens with titles, they become UV on the actual release date.

Streaming providers can not decide to release anything early. The digital release date is set by the distributing studio, just like they set the physical media release date.

Nobody released it "early" - the street date for the digital copy as set by the studio is 12/23...

umm can you imagine if the studios didn't set the digital release date. They would all release it while it is still in the theater lol..

didn't anticipate this becoming a major debate lol but my main point remains and always will be if a movie is UV which means streaming it should be UV on the digital release date end of story.

To be fair though - how does it not being UV immediately really effect us? Look at Gone Girl, the reason for this thread. It wasn't UV when I bought it in the morning but it was by that evening. Close enough for me...

                    Re: Gone Girl not UV?

*facepalm* of course the studio sets the dates, they also allow early release to streaming sites before that date, it doesn't mean they allow it to go UV before the release date. The one that really gets me is the guy who bought Tammy twice because he couldn't wait for it to go UV, why not rent it on the second account if you're that impatient.

If you have 6 people in your UV group and one gets it and its not UV the other 5 won't get it until it goes UV.

The whole concept with UV is streaming so if a movie is UV it should be UV on digital streaming release date end of discussion.

I totally get that all I'm pointing out is that the specific title this thread is about was made UV probably by the time those other 5 got home from work on release day...

Maybe you should start a chant.

                              What do we want?
                              UV!
                              When do we want it?
On the day it's supposed to happen!!

correct and i am pointing out in this thread that this is becoming a trend on vudu and not other services...tammy extended cut, maze runner, november man, madeas christmas, gone girl...and i wonder if we hadn't made a post and had daniel looking out for us how long it would have taken.
