The supervisor I spoke with told me that, too. So I guess the studio just randomly selects Vudu customers as to which seasons they can upgrade to for $5?

Sounds like a mistruth to me. I find it hard to believe a studio would pull this crap, Vudu OTOH...

Good luck with any answer at all from Warner Bros. I've never received responses when I've tried contacting them.

Same deal here. Offers to upgrade GoT every season from HDX to UHD for $5.00 (strangely I think a couple of them showed $0.00 to upgrade). Anyhow, season 3 they want $25 for UHD and no special offer. This is the kind of stupid nonsense that the entertainment industry has always pulled. Random 'special' circumstances for random titles. The service (Vudu) will claim it's the studio making the situation - the studio will claim it's the service doing it. It's both.

Vudu has been a great company and is my current choice for my fairly huge movies (and TV) collection... but these past few months I have seen so many odd shenanigans with pricing and sales that I am giving serious thought to making a different service my primary. Sad after so many years and thousands of dollars to see this service slide into a questionably run money grab using website marketing foolishness.

I miss the old Vudu that didn't play games trying to trick me into buying titles for more than I want to pay... (don't even get me started on the nonsense where there is an orange sale flag on a title but the price IS NOT on sale when you go to buy it, like there's some kind of several hour delay for the price change to take affect or something and buyer beware to those who don't notice and click 'buy' before the actual price has been made to be on sale - seems like this happens more and more too)

For what it's worth I do like the 'offer' to upgrade a top tier title to UHD for $5. It just needs to make sense and not be a frustrating piecemeal poorly done experience. Come on Vudu, I know you guys can do better.

(Edited to add: I confirmed that seasons 5 and 7 were $0.00. Odd. I could buy season 3 for $25 and the $10 I saved on seasons 5 and 7 would mean the end net result would be $15 to upgrade season 3 after the offset. But that all just seems cheesy and weird to me. I honestly would rather they just offer all eight seasons for $5 each and not have all this silliness)

I too only received upgrade offers for most of the seasons. Seasons 3 and 7 were not given the option to upgrade for $5, despite being redeemed directly from codes that came with each of the 8 seasons that I purchased on blu-ray.

I find this completely insulting. Who in the hell is going to fork over $30 to upgrade 6 of the 8 seasons to UHD, when VUDU / WB (my money's 100% on VUDU borking this up, btw) fail to include other selected seasons within the $5 upgrade offer? I truly hope their rationale isn't to try and twist your arm into paying full price for any seasons that did not receive the offer. That is most certainly NOT going to work on the majority of folks, including myself. In fact, I'm going to stick with HD unless this issue is fixed and ALL 8 seasons become available for $5 upgrades to UHD during the time period of the offer. I refuse to take part in a broken promotion when there's no clear path towards getting any excluded seasons to UHD at a reasonable price down the road.

What a botched nightmare of a promotion, and to me I don't buy the blaming comments made by VUDU CSRs towards WB. They ALWAYS blame the studios whenever something like this happens. I have never heard them do anything but pass the buck when something fails to go as expected. Why would WB exclude different seasons from the offer for different people? It makes no sense to target customers in different ways and exclude ANY seasons that they previously redeemed codes for in HD. None whatsoever.

You have to believe that Warner Brothers would completely understand how off-putting that would be to VUDU customers, eradicating any interest in this promotion at the same time. Again, I'm out until / unless I get an upgrade offer for ALL 8 seasons that I previously redeemed HD codes for. This is just plain stupid, because it insults customers and makes them not want to spend ANY money on an incomplete offer. Way to push a lot of customers away from spending a decent chunk of change on these upgrades. For the life of me, I cannot understand WHY the people responsible for this promotion thought that excluding certain seasons that customers had previously redeemed via HD codes would go over well.

Yeah the listing is very generic. Just says 4k. I just tested and my TV says hdr and Atmos for season 8.

I’m stating that the mistruth came from Vudu, not a user/customer. I know better than to waste my time with their poor customer service. I always buy elsewhere whenever possible due to that very reason.

Understood, but yeah I hope they resolve and be consistent with the offer.

FelipeF Good Day, I noticed you are one of the Forum moderators. Any chance of knowing how can this be escalated with the System's Promotions and Deal's team? Basically, the main concern is that Season 3 of Game Of Thrones is the only one "Not Part" of the $5 UHD Upgrade Deal in Vudu. Your assistance is highly appreciated.

I have already notified the promo team about this issue. I hope to have an update tomorrow. I'll post my findings then.

For some of us Season 3 AND Season 7 have been excluded from the UHD upgrade offer, despite redeeming all 8 seasons directly from HD codes packaged within blu-ray sets. Some out there only received the offer for just 1-2 seasons despite redeeming all 8 seasons legitimately from codes. This offer seems like a potpourri of different circumstances and prices for different people, and people should have been treated more fairly and consistently.

The comments here say it all with regard to that inconsistency and the damage it is doing to people's confidence in VUDU. Here's hoping things are made right over the next few days.

I hope that for those like me that already upgraded 6 seasons minus the two that did not work can be offered the 30 upgrade for all. In other words not charged for the final two upgrades via credits or whatever method vudu chooses etc.

Just wanted to add I am missing 3 and 7 from the offer. I never bought 8 for obvious reasons (it's a total cluster****). I'm more interested in upgrading 1-5. Somehow season 1 was a free upgrade though, so thanks for that!

I'm missing a $5 upgrade offer for season 3, also... but here's the kicker... I heard some people got an offer to upgrade the entire bundle... all 8 seasons to 4k for $30.
