I got 5 upgraded, i'm super happy Vudu is doing this... but seems odd folks are selected at random. I got less than 1% upgraded. I'm hopeful it's an ongoing thing, and not a one and done.

I got an email but with only 3 movies upgraded, one of which was already UHD at MA & Vudu (It Happened One Night). Superman II (original version) & Easy Rider were upgraded at Vudu, but not at MA even after fixing a connection issue.

The upgrades won't port out to MA, sadly.

Interesting as all of my 30+ upgrades were from HDX to 4K.

Is HDX possibly going away as well for titles that are available in 4K.

In other words is Vudu trying to get to the point of only having to store / stream one quality of each film to save server storage space and offload lower resolutions to consumers hardware?

Otherwise why upgrade SD people to 4K instead of just HDX and leave the opportunity to sell 4K later to HDX people.

I own 47 titles on Vudu that are only available in SD, and what about streamers that aren't 4k, the Vudu app won't work on those models? That's if they do away with non- 4k resolutions. I don't see that happening.

Wish they’d add a filter to see movies by definition

While I'm happy so many people got 4K upgrades for free, those of us that have been spending money over the last 5 years to upgrade our library are feeling kind of shorted.

I have about 800 UHD titles in my library, probably half of those I paid to upgrade from HDX. When I got the email "VUDU HAS UPGRADED YOUR MOVIES" I thought "Cool, it's great that Vudu is recognizing their loyal customers."

The email said they upgraded Baby Driver & Spider-Man Homecoming, both of which I already owned in 4K.

Then I come to the forums to see people who have spent the bare minimum on SD titles get over 100 upgrades.

I'm generally good with paying to upgrade my titles, but it just seems I wasted a ton of money with Vudu to get what others spending much less got for free.

I’ve got over 3000 movies many 4K and many others HDX or SD.

I don’t keep track of what movies I have in what resolution.

In either case they upgraded something like 30 out of 3000.

I usually don’t bother to pay for 4K upgrades. I’d rather spend the money on more movies instead.

I have no idea how many of the upgrades were actual upgrades of titles perhaps that were already in 4K.

That's what mine was. Already had it in 4K via MA, then they "upgraded" it to 4K again.
