We don't have kids and we watch very little network TV, so we do have more time for movies. I guess that's why we look forward to new releases more than most here ...

I'm sure I'm not alone in this regard, so you don't need to paint me as an obsessive-compulsive ... perhaps just a reluctant malcontent waiting for better Vudu days ...
You know, there is a 30 day money back guarantee. The VuDu isn't for everyone, so if you're unhappy, return it if its been less than 30 days. Otherwise, like others said, someone would be happy to buy it off you.

If it is just a matter of weeks, why don't you just "take a vacation" from new releases for a couple of weeks and look for some older movies that you may never have seen before. Then, when you "come back" you could just look at Vudu's release schedule and not the other one. Since the schedule that studios use to release is arbitrary, it shouldn't make a difference.

You know, if your unhappy, get rid of it and stay away from the forums. Thats what the 30 day guarantee is for. Dont come complaining here and then get mad when someone offers you advice. That is the whole point of the forums. None of us want to hear whiners here.

You know, of course I'm aware of the 30-day return period, thanks for enlightening me. You do have a talent for regurgitating the obvious. I know what forums are for - debate and discussion, in addition to giving and getting advice. If you don't like other's opinions including "whiners" - that's your problem ... now go run along Greggy ....

Anyway, I think it's a good thing if Vudu hears from some of the users that want improvement and hear it more than once, from more than one person they might might be inclined to apply more resources to resolve shortcomings... but that's just my opinion. If every forum goer is a happy camper, willing to sit back and passively wait, rather than spur Vudu on, well, so be it ...

                Mbustin,

The issue is not that you have stated what you want and what you don't like. The problem is that have done it over and over and over and over and over and over again. MOVE ON!

There is NO ONE and I guarantee you NO ONE on this forum who wants the current rental situation to stay the same. I would say that there is NO ONE at Vudu who wants this either. But the business models at the studios are very complex and it isn't so easy as snapping one's fingers to make it happen. That is all I can say about it at this time but it's something that is being worked on.

So every Vudu employee and every Vudu customer in the world agree with you. YOU ARE RIGHT. However, you keep bringing it up and bringing it up and bringing it up.

This horse is dead and has been beaten enough. This dog won't hunt.

One of the forum policies is to not continue to bring up old issues and beat dead horses. It's not a matter of allowing or not allowing dissent. We all agree but it gets tiring to hear how horrible the Vudu product is for you because rental timelines don't fit into your schedule. Again, I'm sorry it's not more to your sense of instant gratification.

I don't consider ANY one product to be my only source of entertainment. I have CableTV, CATV VOD, Internet Radio, ripped MP3s, CDs, DVDs, Digital Media Player to play DVDs I've ripped, Vudu, Internet Video, AppleTV, etc. Each device brings a slightly different flavor or capacity to the party. I don't foresee the day yet that I can toss all but one of them out the window.

As I've asked before, please be patient with this product. It's brand new and is working in an industry hostile to new technology - especially new technology that is using file sharing over the internet. It will take TIME to change the business model.

I think this is the NUMBER 1 complaint about the product. It is at the top of my list and I'd be happier if it was fixed. However, I don't whine about it here or in the beta test forums because my objection to this was said and noted months ago. Now, I move on and figure out how to best fit the box into my needs and enjoy it. Please, let's move on.

Sucks how you give people options and they just try to get after you for it. I dont get why people post on forums that do this. Isnt that the point of a forum...to discuss and get help?

We don't have kids either so I like to watch the new releases as soon as their available to rent. We started renting from Netflix, Redbox and Tivo. We average about 3 to 4 movies a week.

                        TV shows for Xmas!

i would like to strongly support this concept... at the risk of being repetitive. Having TV shows on VUDU is the last hurdle to me cancelling Netflix i'm having a fine time with the current movie content, but sometimes during the week, I need a 60 minute video bite.

Look, I'm well aware of the 30-day back gaurantee and I know I can sell the box. Your "options" sounded more like "stop complaining and don't use the forums" .... anyway, my apologies ... I'll just sit back and wait, I know Vudu is working hard to improve the product.

TV Shows would be the killer content, if I may say so myself. One of the reasons for that I have been so hooked to my TiVo is for its "seamless" integration with Amazon Unbox, but what if there had to be no "seamless integration?" What if it was all there on VUDU, and wait for it... We did not have to wait for it to download, etc. etc. TV content would be a huge boost for VUDU in the consumer market and truly make it a worthy competitor to TiVo/Unbox, Apple TV, and others (note: VUDU is already great, IMHO). TV Shows would make me use VUDU 4-5 times a week, instead of the 1-2 I now use it.

I can see the natural tendency to imagine merging the capabilities of Tivo and Vudu. I have both of them and, so far, I still see them as different. I too am tempted to imagine the combination but I'm not sure it is the right thing. I think the Tivo interface is really good for what it does (and not so good for finding movies via Unbox). I also think the Vudu interface is really good at what it does. I'm not sure that the different interfaces really go together all that well. I will concede that I'm not a UI guy and someone could show me something that changed my mind.

Tell ya what, I've never gotten into a show like 24 and it's sorta too late now unless I spend a fortune on DVD sets. If Vudu offered shows like that and Lost, etc. that you have to watch from day one, I just might get hooked on some new shows!

                                This would be nice...
