Now if they announced that they were going to be part of Ultraviolet, then that could possibly entice me to buy an Apple TV. But without UV, there is no way I would consider it.
I hear you, the draw back to Apple is you have to have an iDevice to view the content. When I first started collecting digital copy of movies is was through iTunes, then I realized I could only watch on my ipad or get an appleTV. I didn't want the apple TV because I didn't want to by another box to plugin and hang outside of my TV when the TV could do what the apple TV is doing if Apple just made an app. Luckily, the Disney anywhere allowed me to pull my Disney moves from iTunes to make available on VUDU.

With apple announcement, I'm thinking of just giving in and get an apple TV box for at least one of our TVs and move back to iTunes. It would be nice to pull my UV into iTunes.

Here now I see Baby Driver was offered at a great UHD price, but when I bought it last Tuesday I was only presented with SD or HDX purchase
      options.

Homecoming is on sale preorder with iTunes for $19.99. Cant even find it on Vudu, only SD/HDX. Dont want to get Baby Drivered again.

      Theres a problem here.

Spider-Man Homecoming isn't distributed by Disney despite it being based in the MCU.

Since Sony has finally got on board with offering Baby Driver in 4K, expect them to offer Spider-Man Homecoming in 4K either immediately when it releases on Vudu or sometime really soon afterwards.

It looks like Vudu may be wisely moving to a sales model where UHD is priced at the old HDX level, and the HDX price will replace the old SD purchase price. I would hope to imagine that the SD Purchase option on movies will begin to dissappear, and SD will only be available as a playback option.

With today's 4k TVs going into every household, why would you as a company want to let consumers play SD streams on them when you are touting 'Best Picture, Best Sound' in marketing for your VOD service? And the subscription services are always only playing the highest quality available - including 4k.

I can also hope in the near future all SD Licenses will be auto upgraded to HDX (Where there is a HD version of the film available) to ensure all streams are of excellent quality, internet speed permitting of course.

And maybe if all my dreams come true, Vudu will insist to the studios that they also get the same privileges as Apple, and upgrade all the HDX purchases to UHD where available.

Then, in theory with 4k titles you can ditch the HDX sales level (and SD), and have only UHD. And then when you are buying the title digitally, you own it perpetually at full quality and not just at a particular quality level.

Lead the way and make it so Vudu!
My hope was that only the best available version of the movie would be for sale and that we wouldn't have to upgrade our collections. If people stop buying SD or HD now (and why would they buy them when the UHD is the same price or just a bit more), then what's the point of selling them? Does Apple still sell HD versions of their movies when UHD is available?

I definitely don't want to pay again just to get higher quality of the same movie. I want to stick with Vudu, but they need to do the right thing.

Eh main reason why I didn?t get a Apple TV u Pay 200$, buy a tv, not all of my digital copies were iTunes most are Ultraviolet or vudu only digital redemptions, and vudu was offering the 4K versions first, or if you bought the 4K version disc then u got the digital 4K free with purchase as well, so most of the stuff I used Vudu had for months before apple. Plus not all the apps I used are On the appletv. Like Twitch, ?a very popular game app?, or other apps that come very late for Apple TV or not at all.

At this point anyone that has a big UV library like me stick with vudu. Even if they offer the free uhd upgrade with a HDx or Hd copy bought Apple hasn?t said anything about linking our ultraviolet library to our iTunes account. Pretty sure a lot of us don?t want to rebuy our UV library on iTunes just to get the 4K version free.

Can?t wait for Vudu to offer the same 4K options soon. Come on paramount or movie studies lets make it happen don?t leave the UV club hanging in the docks.

If so, will it be priced at $19.99?

If you plan on buying the UHD version on Tuesday anyway, why not pre-order now to get the $3 credit?

Also, I’m curious to see if the UHD upgrade gives a UV UHD license...

HDR is a generic term which can include Dolby Vision as well as HDR-10.

                            67 UHD

Yes I'm aware of that but their post doesn't specifically mention Dolby Vision by name. Just wondered if this was an oversight or a sign that HDR-10 was finally coming to Vudu.
