Error linking Vudu to UV account

Hello, I get this error message when trying to link a Vudu account to a sub-account on my UV account:

You can only create two links to a streaming service that stays connected to devices such as a cable box, game console, smart TV, or connected Blu-ray player. To proceed, unlink one of your current links to this streaming service (from your Member Details page at uvvu.com) or check with the service for other options.
The Vudu account is not linked to any UV account, and the UV account is not linked to any service at all. I get this error message when trying to link the two accounts on vudu.com, but I suspect it is an error from uvvu.com. Any thoughts anyone?

what a joke! Why does UltraViolet advertise to have up to 6 people on your account, but then only 2 of those sub accounts can have Vudu?!?! This thing is screwed up, royally.

From what this message is saying it sounds like you were trying to link 2 different UV accounts to the very same Vudu account ?

      Is that correct ?

If so that message is correct you can never link more than 1 UV account to 1 Vudu account.

But you can have, up to the 6 people like MakJae is thinking attached to their own 6 different vudu accounts.

Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

As I mentioned in the OP, neither the Vudu account nor the UV account I am using are linked to any other accounts. The UV account is the third member of my family UV account, and the Vudu account has never been linked to a UV account before my attempts tonight. In fact, I removed the UV sub-account and created a new one with a different username, and I had the same results.

I'll submit a trouble ticket with uvvu.com and see if they can provide any insight.

Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

That is a new one to me. My Family UVVU account has 4 UV sub accounts plus mine and at least 6 separate players attached within that grouping. (My VUDU account is on two boxes for starters). There must be a gremlin or two somewhere for a message like that to occur. I hope they sort your problem out soon fella. Kudos on the forum name by the way..

Do we have any answers to this yet? I am the main account holder on my household UV account. I have 3 sub accounts (4 total) and now only 2 can link to Vudu??? Please tell me there is going to be a fix for this?

I'm under the impression that this is a limitation imposed by UV, not Vudu. I've opened a case on this with UV. They take a few days to get back to me and they came back with "it should be fixed" but it wasn't. I then asked them if this is how it's supposed to be or if there is a problem. Hopefully we won't be limited to just two Vudu accounts connected to a UV account...

if only 2 vudu accounts is the case, then I will stop using VUDU once CFF (common file format) comes out. I will just stream CFF on my own network. pretty lame if you ask me...

Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

I have the same problem. I have my Vudu account linked to my main UV account. I created a sub-user, and they were able to link their Vudu account to the UV sub-user account. I created a third user, and when they created a Vudu account and tried to link it, recieved the message:

"You can only create two links to a streaming service that stays connected to devices such as a cable box, game console, smart TV, or connected Blu-ray player. When I login to uvvu.com with that users info, there are no linked services...

Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

Any word from UV on this? This seems to be a poor implementation issue. You should be able to setup all 5 UV sub accounts with individual VUDU accounts.

Are we as consumers going to get any word from VUDU about this as well? Have they reached out to UV to find out why this limit is being imposed upon us their customers and why now the change

Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

There is a (crappy dappy) way around this, but I wouldn't call it a solution. You can link your Vudu account to a new UV account and then merge the two UV accounts. Until the problem gets resolved, you'll end up having an extra family member in your UV account, but it's better than nothing.

Does this allow for a permanent link or do you have to keep temporarily re-linking the 3rd account? I agree they need to be clear if this really is a UV restriction. UV doesn't mention it anywhere and attempts to contact support are a waste of time. I am sure everyone does what I did and fiddled around with it forever before checking the forums.
