Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

I would think so, but a friend of mine had the second link in the UV account and I had a third link with someone else at the time, and my friend said he couldn't play anything through the Vudu app on his Xbox. Maybe it has something to do with it, maybe not...

Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

I agree this limitation seems bass ackwards from what the whole point of the Household account it. It's one thing to limit devices linked to Vudu another to limit the links to vudu from UV. If you are limited to 2 of each kind of link but can have 5 in your household and some movies are not available on some services. (Shrek for instance on Vudu and not on Flixster) this seems silly.

I bought into the UV world due to owning my movies and legally watching the digital copies. If I wanted to be locked down I'd stick with the Microsoft Xbox or iTunes world. Maybe there's a good reason why Disney didn't join the UV consortium.

Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

I've still received nothing from UV on this, so I prompted them to provide me with another update (it's been almost a month since the last update). I'll post my results here.

Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

This was discussed about a month or so ago that something changed with Vudu and now you can only have 2 connections unless you had the connections prior then you would be grandfathered in. I am, with 4 connections.

Yep, except I thout it was a UV-wide limitation on streaming services...can't remember if people tried 3+ CinemaNow or Flixster links to verify that it's not just Vudu.

Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

              Hi all,

This limitation is for account-to-account linking, not account-to-member linking (e.g., subaccount linking). Any member of an UltraViolet account can create a single link to the Vudu account, which then provides access to all the UltraViolet content. If you try to link each member of your UV account to the same Vudu account then you are doing extra work that gains you nothing (except an error message).

The only way anyone should run into this limit is if they have more than two Vudu accounts and try to link them all to the same UV account. But presumably anyone sharing a UV account would also share a Vudu account.

P.S. Someone suggested creating a new UV account, linking it, and merging with another UV account. But this won't work because links are removed from the account that's deleted in the merge.

Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

Tried to link my mom's uv account with vudu and my sister's after they recently joined my UV group because I got them roku players for christmas and neither one will link with vudu. It's a mess and uvvu says it's vudu's fault and vudu says it's uvvu at fault. Either way, if 5 family members can join my group, then 5 famliy members should be able to view all the movies in the collection via vudu! Otherwise, what is the point of allowing 5 people to share? I had no problems with getting my other 2 family members hooked up, but they were set up a couple of weeks in advance of my mom and my sister. Very frustrating to spend the money to buy the players in the hopes of making a nice gift and then they have no content to watch because of the linking issue....

Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

I recently had a similar problem. I had four vudu accounts connected to four different member UV accounts connected to one Master UV account. One of the member accounts became un-linked, and when I tried to re-link it, the main account also became un-linked. The only way that I could fix it was to remove two members, so that I could re-link my original account. Now one of those members can access their collection via CinemaNow, but only because it had already been linked. This really needs to be fixed if UV is to succeed.

Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

                    I have the same issue!

I created the master Ultraviolet account and then an additional 5 subaccounts.

My master is linked to Vudu and one of the subaccounts linked correctly too. I then tried to link the other members with their subaccounts to their own personal Vudu account and recieved this same error message.

Like all of you, this seems ridiculous. There's no reason why all of the people on my account should have a problem linking their UV subs to their own Vudu accounts.

Ugh. Same problem here. Never had this issue until that whole fiasco where I had to change my passwords. Since then, I've been completely screwed.

                      Is there no hope?

Re: Error linking Vudu to UV account

The part I hate about this whole thing is that VUDU & UVVU keep pointing the finger at each other on whose error or fault it is. Which is B.S. because they are obvioulsly supposed to be partners and work together. My issue started at the end of March, (around the 28th). My UV movies all of a sudden disappeared from my VUDU account. I was told 28,000 times to unlink and re-link from VUDU support and UVVU support.....well thanks CAPTAIAN OBVIOUS, I would have never though of that!!

So I have created a new VUDU account under my wifes name and her own UVVU account. I went to link the 2 up and none of her UV movies will show up in VUDU. So I then merged her UV account into my UV account, left her VUDU account alone and then linked it to my UV account and same issue.

So then I bought 1 movie from VUDU...Rise of the Guardians for my kids. That movies shows up in my VUDU account but will not roll over into my UV account even though it has the UV logo on it. I'm pretty ****ed off about it b/c it has taken over a month to get nowhere with these idiots.

I personally think it is a VUDU issue, b/c I do not have this problem with Flixter, Cinema Now, Paramount, Sony, or any other company linked to my UV account. It is only with VUDU.

I vote to boycott until they get their head out of their asses and come up with a solution and stop saying, "if you just go re-link your account, everything should be fine". IDIOTS! none of them read the support cases, so each time you get a new person helping you, they say the exact same thing as the other 25 idiots said. GUESS WHAT....IT DOESN"T WORK!

I'm having the same issue. It seems like a 3rd Vudu account cannot link to the same Ultraviolet 6-member group. Does this mean that Vudu encourages sharing password and accounts between Ultraviolet members within an Ultraviolet group?

It would seem to be an intentional, bad decision has been made to restrict to two accounts when an Ultraviolet account can have up to six members. Why isn't the limit 6?

Two is the link limit, and is enforced by UV. We also suggest that you keep your password to yourself.
