Re: Direct-to-Digital list and other utilities (Error Tracker, Redemption Log)

Hi, I'm new to this forum and just signed up for a UV and Vudu account to take part in the 50% off promo currently going on and seem to have run into my first hiccup. Hopefully some here will be able to offer suggestions or recommendations on how to resolve it.

I initially started upgrading a bunch of DVDs to HDX and had a bunch in my cart. As the number of titles started to grow I realized that it might be more cost effective to just buy a BD drive and do a straight BD to HDX conversion for less than half the price of upgrading DVD to HDX, especially since I have most of the titles on BD already and will be using the BD drive for other things (to archive my personal data) and not only for D2D.

I just got my BD drive and deleted the SD to HDX upgrades that I had in my cart and then started re-adding the titles to my cart directly from the BDs. The drive and Vudu were able to read the discs and identify the titles and versions correctly and the Vudu to Go app gave me the option to purchase the HDX version for $2 (before the 50% promo). Great.

However, when I add the HDX version to my cart and check my cart, what shows up in my cart is the SD version and the source is identified as the DVD version. This happened for all the titles that I previously had the SD to HDX upgrade in my cart. However, when I try a new title that I didn't have in my cart previously, directly from the BD, the title and version are read correctly AND the correct version (HDX) is put in my cart.

Does anyone know why the SD version of the previously added titles keep showing in my cart? I suspect it has something to do with those titles having been in my cart previously as SD to HDX. Even though I deleted and re-added directly from the BDs, it looks like the Vudu to Go app has some kind of memory and is reverting it back to the DVD source. Note, in my cart the Vudu copies show up as SD, not the HDX that I originally upgraded to from the DVD, so it seems to remember the source material and then apply the straight conversion (vs. upgrade) to that.

Is there anyway to clear the memory of the app? Or is there any way to fix this?

I suppose I could go through with the purchase first and then contact CS for a post-purchase fix, but would prefer to fix the problem pre-purchase. However, since the promo is about to expire I'm a little nervous about time frame of how quickly CS would be able to resolve this.

    Thanks!
    Michael

I've noticed that when I remove an item from my cart in Vudu-to-Go, it stays in my in-store D2D cart. There seems to be some crossover issues with the VTG cart and the in-store D2D cart.

      Go to this link:
      http://www.vudu.com/disctodigital

Sign in, and check the cart. You may see the SD titles sitting there. If so, delete them, exit the page, fire up Vudu-to-Go, and try again. I'm not 100% certain that this will work, but it's a shot...

Stepbrother Unrated is now available in HDX. Previously only available in SD. This is as of yesterday.

That's good to hear. I was going to upgrade it last week and noticed it was SD only.

As of today, no new titles found since 8/13.

I've never posted a meme in my life (which I don't think this is), but this is almost exactly how I feel everyday when I check for updates:

I think it's time another studio joined the UV party...

If you can't get your in-store list to even show up to add or remove and print what's the solution for that ?

I wish I knew and not even Vudu knows how to solve it for now.

So doing the in-store option is pretty much out of the question ?

What if you were to go into the store and have them just kill what ever is still on the list? Do you think that might reset it back on the Vudu site ?

There shouldn't be anything on the list because the last time was when I bought 48 using the store D2D. Also, the tech support people have told me that they've cleared the list over and over now but it didn't solve the problem.

Set up a second Vudu account linked to the same master Ultraviolet account. All the D2D titles you redeem on the new account will show up in both Vudu accounts. That sounds like the only workaround if Vudu can't fix your main account.

you do not need a pre-populated list to do in-store. You can show up cold with physical discs and fill out a form at the photo counter.
