Re: Direct-to-Digital list and other utilities (Error Tracker, Redemption Log)

Going over the new entries, there is a first time studio to the D2D program.

Big Ideas, producers of the Veggie Tales brand had their first title "Jonah, A Veggie Tales Movie".

I was wondering when they would make it around. Glad to see they are now a UV studio.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Big Idea is just producing studio. This title is distributed by Lionsgate. Other video's produced by Big Idea are distributed by Vanguard Cinema, which is not an UltraViolet partner.

        Ahh, I see.

I was hoping they may be able to fill the gap of family entertainment a little while we wait around for Disney Studios.

        thx for clarifying.

Really? That's curious. I would almost think that the Vudu To Go app would be locked to A/1 like a N.A. Blu-Ray/DVD player would be. It's interesting that they allowing us to use disc's from outside of North America regions, unless perhaps this is a loophole that hasn't yet been closed yet.

There are a few Blu-Ray's that aren't available in N.A. in the U.S. (or weren't until recently) but have been on the D2D list for quite some time.

I now have a lot more comfort in getting a region B locked disc to use for D2D.

DARN I could have been doing it FOR MONTHS now ! ! !

I don't have a lot of region B movies but one of them is "Man on Fire". If there are others that are region B that I've converted, they are probably because I went to the store and didn't use the Vudu2Go home application. I just tried the "Man on Fire" disc when it became available on D2D and it didn't work. I'm thinking that maybe all region B movies will not work with the in-home D2D application? Maybe one of the Mods can jump in and let us know about region B movies?

So when you take it to the store do they not actually spin the disc up to confirm which region it's from? They just look at the list and the physical disc and go ok and add it to the system / account in the computer?

I was able to get my Region 2 DVD for True Lies from Japan to work on D2D the other day. I'm not sure about any compatible Region B Blu-rays out there, but it definitely isn't restricted to Region 1/A discs.

Of course they don't spin the disc up... and they don't check the region of the disc either, they just verify that I own the movie.

Awesome. As long as it's on the D2D disc it doesn't matter which region it. And I know there are a load movies on D2D listed under Blu-Ray that have never been released in N.A.

                    Nice.....

I had a disc broke in two.

I was able to D2D the title via in-store. They didn't care.

They are for sure not validating region codes.

I've had some pal DVDs read in vudu 2 go. Jawbreaker is one off the top of my head. Some foreign blu rays worked also, others did not. I think it's just a matter if that pressing is in gracenote's database or not.

After the major action the other afternoon, we've got a small but mighty update:

1 new title/version found: Latest Updates

It says "Special Edition" in my results, but it actually points to the "Extended Edition".

(For comparison, this is the Special Edition that was found way back in my initial scrub.)

FYI, I did an in-store D2D on "Chasing Papi" yesterday.

Vudu says it is a 2010 title, but it was made in 2003. Just for posterity, in case anyone is making record of these things.

I also did the Big Idea flick "Jonah". It is nice to have a title from that studio. Looks crisp in 1080p.
