Fear not if you have never heard of them, you have to have been born well before 1970 to have heard them in person.

Old or the vestige of "old" does not mean that we are not early adopters or averse to new technology, it means that there is an age difference only.

in my life i have lived a full "dyslexic" life...not meant to offend..but i was born in '68 and graduated HS in '86!!
i'm probably happier now in older years then i was at a younger age.

BUT i will say being an "old" person i DO have a 70 inch HD tv with a bose surround sound system... so just cause there's a little snow on the roof doesn't mean the FIRE isn't BLAZING with class in the fireplace. LOL

Of course, if you can only afford to do D2D for a handful of movies, sure, do SD and get more for your money. But unless someone only uses small screens for some reason (maybe a salesperson on 100% travel for work) and feels confident that they won't upgrade, I'd say that HDX is worth the "investment" so that you don't pay for SD now and then pay again for HDX down the road. Even my salesperson example might get a promotion to sales manager at HQ.
