As he explained, only the other five films have removed the 20th Century Fox logo. SW: A New Hope (episode 4) retains that logo as 20th Century Fox still retains the rights to that first film.
Ah, my bad, sorry. The way it was phrased, it sounded to me like he was saying that the Lucasfilm logo had only been added to 5 of the movies. Thanks for the clarification!

If you are considering purchasing this digital collection, I really think you should go with Vudu as your provider. With Vudu, your copy of Star Wars (A New Hope) will be UV and the other films will be DMA. Some of the other digital providers don't support UV and some do not support DMA. Vudu supports BOTH.

        Very true and good points.

On the other hand, Vudu was $10 more expensive than some of the other retailers for the complete set. So it sort of comes down to whether having A New Hope in UV is worth $10 to you or not. I figure it will be DMA at some future point.

Some of us who already own the Blu-ray set think this is overpriced even at $90. Will there ever be D2D for DMA?

Edit: Vudu has now dropped back to $89.99, matching the other two DMA retailers. I still think that's too high, but with prices now equal Vudu is indeed the best option -- not just for ANH in UV, but also for the bonus features.

Glad to see the price dropped back down to $90 on Vudu. That definitely makes them the better choice again.

I wonder if the $100 price was a mistake. I was surprised it had gone up on release day, when the pre-order had been $90 a few days ago. I double-checked the price before I posted my last comment and it was still $100 at that time.

As much as I want it, I can't justify the expense since I own the BD's and well the price is too high. I would've grabbed them for $59.99. And really hope this digital mess pressures Disney to join UV and cement UV as the sole digital locker service. The whole thing is silly with Disney holding out.

Other than the opening credits thingy, are these just the Blu-Ray releases with the blinking ewoks and the Noooooooooo in Jedi and the pink Vader saber in ESB? I own that one, and I don't think I want to spend $90 for right now.

Yes, besides the logos they are the exact same as the existing blurays

Thanks for the answer! I don't mind they exist, I'm happy for those who wish to buy them, but I will be sitting this release out. I have them on VHS (THX and SE), Video CD (import), DVD and Blu-Ray. I think I am covered on owning these.

Ha, I know what you mean, I just bought them all separately just so I won't have to see the bundle box.

However with the + Bonus Features, im the opposite of that. I always hate redeeming a code knowing a slightly better version is available I have to pay for. When I have a title that has the + Bonus Features it always FEELS Premium to me.

can anyone confirm that the new hope goes to your uv collection? It does not have the logo but people have said its uv on other threads. I'm just wondering why it doesn't have the logo.

The UV logo shows up on the TV apps.

New Hope goes to your UV locker so at least should work with Vudu family sharing.

What vendors are you seeing it on; MGo or Nook or other?
It goes to Flixster, but it is currently not supported and it won't play or download on their apps or website.
I currently does not transfer over to Cinemanow.
