Out of curiosity, what's the difference between the May 1st app (4.1.37.89419) and the other 5.3.1xx.xxxxx VUDU apps? Or is the 4.1.37.894119 just for Sony?

There is no speed test in the app.

I side loaded this on my Sony X930e and yes it does do 4K/HDR, but it seems a bit unstable. I had it crash on me once. I also had the movie loading screen appear while watching when I was playing with the picture settings. Edit: it seems more stable since the icon moved.

Another thing I noticed is that when I installed it, it was originally under the Apps section, but at some point moved up into the Featured Apps, where the other Vudu app lives. The one with the smaller text is the side loaded one.

Oddly while the app does support Dolby Vision, it doesn?t seem to display HDR for movies that are Dolby Vision only. Guardians of the Galaxy only supports DV, not HDR10, and it doesn?t play HDR. The Last Jedi and Thor Ragnarok do play DV HDR (those movies also support HDR10).

Yes. Settings, apps, select Vudu and uninstall. You can only uninstall side loaded apps, or apps from the play store you downloaded.

I really want to try this but can you uninstall the app when Sony gets around to updating our 930e TV's?

Okay, I see that it's on the apk mirror, but which file? What is the specific version # that we should be downloading? And forgive me, but I'm a Mac guy and am unfamiliar with "side loading". Can someone please provide me with the necessary information to load it onto my 940E?

    THANK YOU in advance!

Wow, found it on apk mirror. Thank you! Made my day. I've only been waiting 3 years for this update. My parents have had hd vudu on their x850ds since 2015. Finally, they can use 4k HDR. Amazing! Baby Driver and Spider-homecoming looks stunning. Atmos sounds amazing via z9f soundbar. I'm picking up the atmos signal. Wow! Thanks again!

I only have a sound bar which is 3.1. But it says it supports Dolby Atmos
