I submitted an official support case with Vudu. They replied with "We will be escalating your case to the appropriate department for further review. Please allow them time to investigate the issue and reach out to you with a resolution. "

But then the case was closed and I never heard back from them.

Thanks for your reply. We have tried to replicate this issue with this specific TV and were unable to. Can you kindly provide a few more details that our engineers are needing for their investigation.

      - Your Yamaha AVR model
      - Does it support Dolby Vision?

      - Your ChromeCast Ultra firmware version (please see my previous post for instructions if needed)

      - Can you connect your ChromeCast Ultra directly to your TV and see if this fixes the issue.

Unfortunately we do not have this specific TV model in house to test. If you can give me the firmware version on your ChomeCast Ultra, that would be helpful.

              - ChromeCast Ultra Firmware Version 1.25.90308
              - TV Brand, model, year of manufacture LG OLEG55B6P, 2016
              - Vudu device ID (settings > system info)CC Ultra doesn't have a device ID.
              - Picture settings (if any) Any of the HDR (not DoVi) picture modes, which the TV switches to automatically on signaling from the CC Ultra.
              - Title of the content The Girl on the Train, Oblivion

CC Ultra is connected to TV via a Denon AVR-X6300H which does not support DoVi pass through. When the CC Ultra is connected direct-to-TV, it correctly signals DoVi.

                AVR model: RX-A1060 v1.27
Does not yet support Dolby Vision

                CCU firmware: 1.25.90308

When the CCU is connected directly to the TV, yes, the issue is fixed. Dolby Vision is triggered on the TV ( not HDR10 ) and everything is proper.

I should also say thank you for working on this issue!

From the customers point of view, this is kind of a pain, because we don't know when the AVR manufacturers will update to support DV, and we don't know when Vudu will support HDR10, so we're caught in the middle with stuff that doesn't work properly.

Hdr10 Panasonic tv here, chromecast ultra giving terrible UHD playback with burnt out whites and poor color. No adjustment to my various modes on tv result in correct playback (I'm a TV editor so have a reasonable understanding of these things). No word from Google about a fix, or Vudu about hdr10 support?

Not at home now, but this is a recent development so believe it is the cc ultra's latest firmware...

Can anyone point me towards recent news on Vudu HDR10 planned support?
                          Thanks.

I noticed there is a new Chromecast firmware listed on their website , but it has yet to hit my CCU.

I'm hopeful that this has a fix for this problem we are experiencing with the VUDU app / UHD.

I've noticed this same issue with all UHD titles in my library. When I tried with the same CCU on my Sony X850C, it cast Fantastic Beasts UHD just fine. Now trying that same movie on same CCU on my Sony A1E (big upgrade on TV, ayyy), that same movie and F8 of the Fuious has like sun blaring blown out colors and blown out details. Is there a fix incoming for this? Only notice with VUDU app recently.

                                Edit:
                                Cast firmware version: 1.26.92486
TV: 2017 Sony A1E OLED (connected directly to TV, HDMI 3 I believe)
Movies: F8 of the Furious (both extended and theatrical), Fantastic Beasts. Only two I tried so far.
