I've unlinked and re-linked my account 20 or 30 times and have no problems beyond the occasional error message. Sometimes you just have to when new movies are not showing up in your movies. There is a resolution to the problems in that thread. It mainly has to do with UVVU and their terrible link services.

When I got the code and went to redeem, I was under the impression that it could only be redeemed through Universal so that's the route I went. I signed up for one of their accounts and redeemed it.

Just wanted to add to this. As Max said, unlinking your accounts should be a last resort. If you're having issues with your account, please contact our support team.

So did we conclude that if you remove a user from your group then that entire UV account is deleted entirely and not just separated?

Yes. I tested this and the account is gone, but the movies stay. I created a dummy account with the free uv movie from vudu. I merged it to my account then deleted the dummy account. I can no longer log in to the dummy account but the movie is still in my uv account.

This is a very useful feature, I used it to merge my brothers account which had 1 free movie from vudu and four from Flixster with my account. You know what else could be useful? To be able to give someone a movie from your account. But I could see the potential for abuse.

It is. I wouldn't abuse it too much though. I've done it one more time just because I had a code to get a Warner movie in HD but flixster wouldn't allow me to redeem it (I had an SD copy in my account) and it came up as invalid on Vudu. I created the new account just to redeem the one code in HDX and merge it with my existing account.

I guess I can see the possibility of people abusing the feature to get the free flixster or vudu movies over and over again, but the movies they give are all SD and arguably not very good, so I don't see myself ever being tempted

I agree. There are only about 4 that they are offering that I want, but I don't want them in SD. The others I already have.

Ok i'm not talking about merging (even though this is the merge thread) a user into your group. I mean the original way of adding a user into your group. If i add a user then remove them will there movies and the account delete forever with no access to anyone or will movies and account just separate out into a single account so that account can create its own group?

I understand that once you "merge" an account then the incoming account is no longer available and cannot actually be removed since it was merged into the original account.

Same. The account will be gone forever and the movies will stay in your account. Deleting works the same regardless of how the account got there. It will give you a warning before you finalize the deletion.

So madmod20061, if your sub accounts are helping build your movie collection by adding things through their D2D vudu and then you delete their UVVU account your still going to have all the movies they added right?

And then once they re-link a new UVVU account they will once again have access only to the movies they personally added to their Vudu account, but your collection is not going to change but remain nice and huge still?

That is true. But any movies added to the deleted user's account from a secondary vudu account, i.e. any purchases, or D2D transactions made will stay in the second vudu account. The second vudu account holder could then create his own master UV account, and his movies would be added to his own locker. In essence there would then be 2 copies of the film.

I don't think it works that way. Someone from vudu would know better than me though. I think they will only ever link to one uv group. If you delete the u. Account and create a new uv account and link that to vudu they don't go over to the new account. At least they didn't with any of my dummy accounts. I think there's something that keeps them from linking to a new account.

Well i unlinked and relinked my UV and my sort order is totally screwed up. Its not even arranged in purchase groups. its just every movie for itself kind of.
