    Re: Walmart vudu promotions

So I saw the first three Twilight movies on Blu-ray with Vudu/Ultraviolet redemption stickers on them today but on Vudu they are still not UV so I am not sure what's up with that. Anyone else see these?

Oh they actually had UV stickers or just VUDU logo? That's good, they will probably update to UV on Tuesday then. I hope CinemaNow updates them to UV so they can reflect in my VUDU acct.

They were the Ultraviolet stickers with the Vudu sign also on them. I would be surprised if CinemaNow upgraded those titles to UV as they never have with previous purchases/redemptions that become Ultraviolet.

Thanks Stark, could you direct me to where people have reported that? I believe you but am curious to read about it. That's bad because I have Twilight Saga and LOTR EE's sitting in CN waiting for UV

            Re: Walmart vudu promotions

Anyone remember how much True Blood Season 5 and Spartacus were in store? I bought a True Blood blu ray pre-order on ebay for $26 shipped and I'm fairly sure that was a lot cheaper than in store. Got it today and it redeemed fine and was just like all of the other pre-orders except for the fact that there were 2 codes to redeem. 1 for the pre-order (which also gave season 4) and 1 code for the first episode of season 5.

Picked up the pre-order for Walking Dead Season 3 last night. Was going to be a must own for me anyway and this way I can get the season on VUDU as well. Have absolutely no use for the CD so I'll probably just sell it once I get it to recoup a little of the purchase price. But I'm guessing it will be around $39.99 most places release week anyway so I figured for the VUDU season for $3 was a no brainer.

I'll probably end up picking up GI Joe at some point also since I don't own the first movie. So $19 for both is a great deal too.

I can verify he's right. I have about 5 or 6 movies in my cinemanow library from their new years sale that were not UV and now they are. Cinemanow never upgraded. If you contact them they may give you a code to redeem another copy, but dealing with Cinemanow customer support is hit or miss (usually miss).

Yeah I can verify I am right too I have three movies which I owned on CinemaNow that became UV later and they basically refused to do anything about it saying I bought them before the UV deal was made and I was screwed so I told them I would be purchasing from Vudu from then on because only Vudu gives a crap about their customers. I still think its odd that they have a non UV sku and a separate UV sku and just don't upgrade them all to UV like Vudu does.

Oh that's terrible and I agree, very odd. I guess I'm gonna be screwed out of LOTR EEs and Twilight Saga now -.- However what is odd is that LOTR EE is UV but they said only the SD is UV. Anything I can do?

Have you tried unlinking your UV and then relinking to see if that triggers an update for new UV titles that were previously not UV? I posted this on another topic because I forgot where this was

I noticed a Marvel standup with various Marvel related movies in Walmart today.

On the side it mentioned that you could pre-order Iron Man 3 starting April 30th.

Will be curious to see what the specifics are next week. Hopefully a nice bonus or two.

They better include Iron Man 1 & 2 UltraViolet.

Preordering the movie BEFORE it's out in theaters(in the states anyway)? That's gotta be a first.

Nope it's been going on for about a year now. There haven't been too many titles. Done that way. Most of them seemed to be movies that didn't do well in theaters. I get the feeling the studios either knew it was going to happen in advance based on test screenings or needed another way of marketing to people. Some of them offered movie cash to se the movie which was emailed to you before the movie came out and then the movie was mailed out at video release date after film. In some cases if you canceled the video purchase but used the movie money they deducted it from the return price.

I think the first movie was Ted from last year where they did the pre-order a month or more before the film even came out in theaters.

well my local Wal-Mart put these out early. It is for the Blu-ray dvd combo + digital copy you get a bunch of vudu extras and the movie. It states Paramount on the case. So......I dunno if there is going to be a place holder for the movie as I couldn't check out with it. There was option like get the first two movies or anything like that. It was more of special features, digital comic book etc. If they still have it I will take some pictures of it. I am just excited that this would be the second Disneyish movie release on vudu the first being toy story 3.
