Re: Beauty and the Beast Disney 1991

I have both still, Special Edition on one Vudu account and Theatrical on another Vudu Account.

Special Edition came from DMA on 3D Diamond Edition package. I had my DMA connected to this main Vudu account all along until I disconnected to re-connect in case I could get both copies like some stated they did. messed up so not connected to DMA anymore

1991 Version from I-tunes just last weekend from same 3D Diamond Edition package. I mistakenly connected DMA to this Vudu account, and at that point redeemed the digital copy xml. I hadn't been connected to Itunes in a long time (only in the very beginning of DMA and Itunes for a bit.) On Sept 6, this version got a bunch of extras added, but not all of them.

In March I'm going to reconnect my DMA to my first Vudu account, which is my main account. I really hope I don't lose the Special Edition there, but even if I do, I can watch it with Disney Movies Anywhere extras.

On Amazon connected to DMA my Beauty and the Beast are 2 different version that have the same runtime. Runtime 1 hour 24 mins. One is 1991 Version with old cover art, other is Theatrical Version with new cover art. Neither have bonus extras, Amazon sells another version that comes with bonuses. (I don't have any Amazon digital movie purchase or redemptions, btw)

Google Play has one that is 84 minutes called the 1991 version, it had the old cover art on Tuesday when I was researching all my accounts for a blog post about B&TB versions. Today it has the new cover art, but is still the 84 minute runtime (when played it shows 1:24:53 as runtime actually) So the difference between 84 and 85 is negligible probably.

[Unless I can get my hubby to call DMA I'm gonna let my Vudu connection issue slide until March 2017 because I have a phone phobia that gives me anxiety problems if I have to call a stranger or a company for any reason.]

Is there a final word on this? Are we getting the special edition back or are we stuck with the 1991 version...? or maybe is it being added as an extra in the future?

I think it should be added as an extra! I would love to have it, but i can't be purchased on Vudu. We have a sing-along version, why can't we get the special edition added as well!

I'd really like to see the special edition back as well, as it's kind of shady that it was removed, I would have preferred to have kept the title I originally owned (special edition), and then have the option to buy the 1991 version (rather than just replace it entirely without notification). At the very least it should be an extra.

              Easy fix!

To all who owned the special edition, include the original as bonus content.

To all who owned the original edition, include the special as bonus content.

Or just let us have the option to purchase either one.

I know, big dreams in such a tiny brain here.

I can't find a copy that has the UV/VUDU redemption code. Only ones I can find have the Disney digital copy thing that is NOT a redemption code......

Which version has the UV/VUDU redemption code?

Disney is not part of UV. They have their own digital locker system called "Disney Movies Anywhere" and that is the code it comes with. It *is* a redemption code...

Sorry but that is not the case. Some times their "digital redemption code" is just that, its a digital copy that I can watch on mobile devices, my PC, etc., and it gets you nothing on VUDU.

So which versions or UPC codes have the redemption code that can via Disney Anywhere get me to VUDU?

Seems if I really want to be certain the ONLY way to be so is to buy the copy on VUDU. But then I don't have the hard copy disk. Which I also want.

Cranston37 is correct, just link your Vudu account to Disney Movies Anywhere and your movies from DMA will transfer to Vudu.

That has nothing to do with what I posted and asked.

I know how it works once the movie qualifies. The question is in regards to which Beauty and the Beast version qualifies.

As Albart said, if you have a digital copy that allows you to watch on a mobile device, PC, etc., then it can also be watched on Vudu by connecting the two accounts.

And there is only one version of Beauty and the Beast available on disc that has the code - the 25th Anniversary Edition. It clearly says "Digital HD" on the packaging - UPC 786936850956.

What the others have said is true. You may be confusing with older codes that were disc based (XML) and only redeemable on itunes originally. With the start of DMA, the DMR code redeemed in Vudu will give the digital copy which will feed into Vudu. Redeeming these old codes into a DMA linked iTunes account will also send the movie to Vudu.

Re: Beauty and the Beast Disney 1991

I have a 6 month old support ticket that I am patiently waiting for vudu support to get to for this movie.

I had owned http://www.vudu.com/movies/#!content...pecial-Edition for several years via DMA. Around the time the new movie came out I also received http://www.vudu.com/movies/#!content...t-1991-Version from my DMA connection.

Apparently DMA updated the version in everyone's accounts. No problem since all my connected accounts now had both versions.

In November 2016, vudu must have changed the way DMA titles are handled and I lost the special edition version.

vudu is the ONLY provider that lost the special edition version, all the other providers connected to my DMA account kept both versions.

I contacted DMA and basically was told that the title was updated, but I should contact vudu about it.

So I wait and hope someone gets to my support ticket
