Re: Flixster has Disc to Digital Beta

On a whim, I decided to re-try some of the discs that I'd tried earlier but using a different drive.

These 5 free credits are not good for any HD titles, as near as I can tell, and there's a disclaimer saying if you buy an HD title, you get the standard 'definiton' version as well.

So... there doesn't appear to be a lot of quality control going on with the programmers over there at Flixster.

Of the titles I re-tried, only one came up with the option to use one of the credits (CINDERELLA MAN) and it was only for the standard definition version. In total, I probably tried around 16 titles, all of them on Vudu's Disc-to-Digital list but many of them did not appear on Flixster's list.

I really hope Vudu is planning to launch their program soon because I don't think I'll be getting much use out of Flixster's...

Re: Flixster has Disc to Digital Beta

Still not getting Disc To Digital to show up for me. I've tried everything I could think of. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software, that didn't work. I uninstalled it again and deleted all the app data, then reinstalled it and that didn't work. Tried logging out and logging back in several times, STILL didn't work.

Running on a PC with Windows Vista. My VUDU and CinemaNow programs load just fine and update on their own when needed. Anyone else still not seeing the D2D?

Same I tried on 4 different computers and two different flixster accounts. 1 of them never had flixster ever installed on it until an hour ago. Oh well. All of them are on windows 8 so don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I'm on Windows 8 pro 64 but, so your version of Windows is not the problem. It could be possible that it is only open to a limited number of participants.

Re: Flixster has Disc to Digital Beta

I just launched the Flixster app, it informed me of a required update. After downloading and installing the app restarted. About now shows 1.7.2.155 (v1.7.2-RC2-1-ga2d4d8a). Disc-to-Digital is still listed.

Seems like it's gone again. I launched from my Mac this morning and the option to convert is no longer there. It was yesterday though.

Sorry I quoted their email. That was not my screenprint. It's not on my screen anymore.

Weird. I deleted and redownloaded and it's still gone on my end. I wonder if they changed it to only show under certain conditions (IE platform, OS, etc).

I'll have to try again on the Windows machine any see if it's still there or not.

To make it available and then keep yanking it makes for an incredibly inept Beta launch...

I've made two purchases so far and I've had to quit out of the program after each one. Flixster keeps giving me reasons not to waste my time with their program...

Well, I found some use for those free credits. I went to convert Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo in Vudu and it's only available in SD everywhere so I just used a flixster credit instead. At least I'll have a copy in my UV account now and if it ever get's updated to HD through Vudu and I can re-do it and I won't be out any extra $. Anyone know of any other SD only movies available? I may try to add some to my Swapadvd wishlist.

I did Teen Titans in the Vudu beta from DVD to HDX and it worked. Shows up my UV locker as well in HD.
