There's actually some other susprise easter eggs out there.

We all have titles that aren't out on Blu-Ray, but are on DVD. If we're lucky they're on D2D.

To my surprise titles that were Buy / Rent SD Only for these DVD titles, when I stick them in D2D I had the option of Buy SD or buy HDX. For titles you can't buy HDX otherwise.

Seems like a loophole if you will. The current studio / distributor contracts don't Blu-Ray, HDX, etc sales. But D2D "upgrade" is something different per the layers.

It was a nice surprise becuase I wanted to add a bunch of titles that had no known Blu-Ray (or HD digital) release dates but was less than thrilled but still willing to say for DVD to D2D and end up with SD only to get HD/HDX at some time (perhaps years) later.

    NICE !

I'd previously done dozens of BD that come up as DVD/SD and just had them fixed to HDX though customer service and typically took under a day. I did two that required credits and still only took about a day or two. That said credits are much more problematic. I understand that wanting HDX immediate gratification or security but I wouldn't recommend it, and neither does Vudu.

As for disc's coming up as DVD instead of BD I would just hold off if you can. As many have commented there was a large amount of titles fixed a few weeks ago, so things are speeding up.

And it also thinks The Two Towers Blu-Ray is a DVD now (pretty sure it did not do that when I'd tried it initially.)
Thanks for the update. I will try the extended editions this weekend and report back to see if they have updated those titles as well. If you open up a ticket with Vudu, they will credit your account back the correct amount. You may need to attach pictures of the disks/cases but they have been very good with me on the few that misread as DVDs.

Re: VUDU AT HOME: DISC-TO-DIGITAL Bugs?

I believe VUDU is tweaking their D2D@Home database, because I have some good (and some not-so-good) news to report about changes I've seen in the last few days!

For starters, we're now able to add the discs from Alien Anthology. Initially, each of the discs would show up as Alien. Now, Alien Resurrection identifies correctly. Aliens isn't recognized, but Alien 3 is recognized as all the movies, and you can choose which movie you want to put in your cart, as rdodolak mentions above. (So you can use that disc twice, once for Aliens, and once for Alien 3.)

Also, previously with the Lethal Weapon Blu-Ray set, no matter what disc you put in, it would read it as the original Lethal Weapon. Now each disc brings up a choice of all 4 Lethal Weapon movies.

And lastly, this is kinda funny, considering it's been such a popular title to mention in this forum and thread:

After months of trying (and waiting,) I notice VUDU's D2D@Home finally recognizes Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring as that title, and not as LOTR: The Return of the King. (Many, many folks have reported this same issue.)

Unfortunately for me though, it is identifying the Blu-Ray as a DVD, and it's doing the same for LOTR: The Two Towers. (I'm pretty sure it previously identified the Blu-Ray of LOTR: The Two Towers properly. So this sorta half-fixed one title, while half-breaking another.

Once I get 10 items in my cart and get the 50% discount, this means I'd be paying $2.50 for those HDX conversions instead of $1. Since this has happened with (at least) three other titles so far, I'll be emailing VUDU customer support to see what they have to say.

Yes, having a system notice that "we will contact you" and not contacting anyone within at least a week or two (more if you specify something like "2-3 weeks") is definitely a critical user interface/user experience problem. And it should be relatively easy to change the wording of that one message, too, although I guess the main issue is that it would require a new software download in order for users to see it.

Barbarella Blu-ray shows up as DVD. I've reported the error with Not My Disc. I've reported many other errors. How will I know when I can purchase correct digital copies?

Any time frame when updates will be done? I know "its done when its done" but I'm getting a pretty big back log of movies that are supposed to work but do not.

Also, I would suggest removing the "we will contact you" when selecting a movie that does not get recognized since it never happens. I have had plenty of movies all through beta and now that didn't get recognized, were added correctly and was never notified of this. Would be nice if this would happen but I think that would be an overload of emails being sent out, so its probably better to not tell the customers that they will be contacted.

Was wondering why nobody ever contacts us when we have a disc that we need to identify that we are using. I am still having issues with Aliens and other Blu-ray disc. Some of them there is the prompt that you need for us to identify, which I do then it comes back with the comment that you will be back in touch with us after you have verified it. I like the idea of having my videos available online (will save me the work of locating the physical copy). If I need to I will use the physical disc, but would rather have it available online.

I just double checked each disc and the following is what is available for each disc:

The Alien disc comes up as Alien (Theatrical)

The Aliens disc comes up incorrectly as Alien (Theatrical)

The Aliens3 disc gives you a choice to select from 4 titles (you can select from multiple titles by reselecting Add Disc):
    • Alien (Theatrical)
    • Aliens (Theatrical)
    • Alien3 (Special Edition)
    • Alien: Resurrection (Theatrical)

The Aliens: Resurrection disc comes up as Aliens: Resurrection (Special Edition)

Actually i check of the "newley available" list located in this forum
    https://forum.vudu.com/showthread.ph...edemption-Log)

I check the list about once a month then update my collections list accordingly. the 3 i mentioned (aliens: DC, X2: Xmen unite & Blazing saddles) came up as newly available but the D2D wouldn't recognize them.
