    Re: UltraViolet Launched updated website

Well the backend works pretty well, otherwise VUDU wouldn't be able to update so quickly, but the frontend website is just terrible. It's crazy because a UV collection is such a simple database with very few data types, essentially just the movie code, SD or HD, the service, and the method obtained. Why this is so difficult is beyond me. Even if they just indexed your collection daily rather than on demand, it would be miles better than it is today.

Yes, exactly this. While I have currently experiences some issues with the syncing service (I'm still missing four movies from Vudu that UV claimed not to have yet they've shown up on some but not all services), it seems to be still working in across providers in near real-time. But the front end makes no sense how it can be working so poorly given the fact that some backend service seems to be working and that there are limited fields and simply queries a user can perform (sort and lookup). Even prior to this new UI the service was borked, where all my counts were off (one would say 270 total and another field would say 500) and any attempt to filter or sort would fail or return a handful of titles repeated over and over.

        Re: UltraViolet Launched updated website

I was able to see my entire collection. When I first opened the Library it showed only the original 16, after loading a few titles and returning back to the library more titles were added. It took the site about 30 minutes to load my entire collection. I noticed it does start from scratch after each time you leave the site and come back. However that is slowing changing, now when I return to the site it starts with 46 titles.

I'm able to see seven pages of my UV collection now which is better than the original 16 titles. I also noticed that they are showing each episode of a particular TV season separately which is weird to me.

I see episodes listed separately for Seasons 1-3 of Fringe. It appears that was the way Vudu added them to my collection. I can only guess it's due to Season 1-3 not available with a UV redemption so the studio hasn't provided an ALID for the Complete season.

Mine was for the complete season of The Big Bang Theory Season 6 so the whole season should have been added rather than each episode separately.

I find that most of my TV shows are added that way by Flixster, Sony and VUDU. I have 50 different seasons of TV redeemed by UV code and only a handful show up in my collection as seasons. Most are collected as episodes.

So I don't have "HDX: You Own It" on most of my TV, but the episodes show as purchased.

Mine still shows 16. Regardless of how long I wait. I've tried Firefox and Safari. Nothing.

                    Re: UltraViolet Launched updated website

This morning uvvu had a new message and my entire library was visible immediately. I was also finally able to delete every duplicate that was shown in my collection. However it wasn't easy, after clicking the title I needed to refresh the page to clear the library loading message then the delete was successful. Deletion will only work if the site is done indexing the retailer that added the title.

Same here. The same 16 movies since I first loaded it. No amount of time, or different messages or adding titles has changed it.

So looks like all my movies are displaying.

Only thing I don't like is that they don't display the quality (at least on the mobile site, haven't tried from PC yet) for the duplicates. I have a few duplicates because I redeemed or converted a movie in SD, but then later did a conversion for HDX. For me it's pretty easy, as it was months apart, but I think it would help from an overall UX perspective to have this piece of information.

I do have a question for those that have used it on PC. Does the Download icon do anything? Is it "active"?

The quality not being displayed is retailer specific. I have quality shown for titles except those added by either Vudu or Universal. The Download icon is not yet enabled.

I was just playing around with it and noted that all of my titles show up if I hit sort. If I just go to the movies page, only 16 show w/o any page #'s at the bottom. Hitting sort gives me the movies page and even better, the count is actually correct now (it was missing 4 for me prior to the beta page).

I've only used Flixster and Vudu and I don't see quality for Vudu but the 3 Flixster titles do show saying "High Definition, Standard Definition" though on one of them it incorrectly only says Standard Definition (it is Vudu correctly as HDX and it plays on Flixster as HD..) Also Flixster redeemed/acquired movies have the 'watch' now button where Vudu ones don't yet. I would assume it is because they seem to be implementing an experience that plays from the retailer's site (which you can see in the address bar) but retains the impression of being on the UV site (there is no Flixster site branding and there is a back button, when you mouse over the video playing, that takes you back to the UV page). I can't imagine Vudu or the other retailers loved that idea so it is interesting to see it being implemented.

I was finally able to see a little less than half my library by logging in to the account I created for my mom. I gave that account full access and was able to delete a lot of duplicates finally though most of my duplicates were from the early flixster redemption days and are not showing up yet. It seems to read newest titles first. Maybe that's why you have the incorrectly labeled Vudu title? It could be in your library twice and just the standard def title is showing up right now? Unless you are able to see your whole library then that theory goes out the window.

I believe Vudu only shows the quality if it's standard def. If it does not show standard def then it's HD. I could be wrong though.
