    Re: Missing Movies

As of this morning, 8 titles were missing from my account. All were done via Vudu D2D service:
    Closer
    Contact
    The Fifth Element
    From Hell
    Fugitive, The
    Gangs of New York, The
    Road Trip
    The Whole Nine Yards

Today, I added The Giver via code redemption and Frankenstein from the Sony site's free giveaway. These each caused an additional movie to disappear as they were added. The movies that disappeared were Groundhog Day & Slumdog Millionaire, which were also both added via D2D. Not sure if this gives you any additional assistance in figuring it all out, but hopefully it does.

Unlinking and/or relinking has no effect for me now. Unlinking takes nothing away and relinking adds nothing. Obviously this is not fixed at all.

          Re: Missing Movies

I don't know how to check which titles are missing. However my Vudu was at 1224 on Jan 31st, and today I'm at 1195 on Feb 26th, so I'm down 29 titles and thats not counting several dozen or so that were added in the month since.

          Whats going on !

I unlinked and relinked UV and the count is the same.

I have asked ALL my members of my UV locker to re-link their UV accounts and nothing so far. I am still missing movies that I even have multiple redemption for like The Dark Knight. Or tv shows that were redeemed on my account aren't showing up on other accounts and vice versa.

              Re: Missing Movies

I just personally audited one of my sub accounts. Missing 1068 movies. I'll be a nice guy and not post a complete list here. Asking for updates may not make things move quicker, but considering me and my linked up friends haven't heard anything regarding our e-mails, until you (felipe) said you'd ping it, I think it makes peoples hearts rest easier knowing the issue isn't going to be forgotten or swept under the rug.

Great catch. My movie count dropped this week on at least two subsequent occasions (and once grew!). After reading your post, I decided to redeem one UV and 2 non-UV codes and left to run an errand. I compared my titles when I came back. The three movies were there as expected. But one UV-imported TV episode was restored (purchased via Target Ticket), and two older UV-imported movies were removed.

Looking back, I had redeemed three other UV codes this week (as well as purchasing a UV movie at M-GO) that could account for those changes. And this week two UV movies received upgrades to HD and were pushed to the top of my list, but I'm not sure those mattered.

But I can consistently reproduce an adjacent problem, even if it's not the initial cause of the big drops seen. I have done this three times now, including the first paragraph above:
                1. Add a UV title by redeeming a code or importing a UV purchase from another retailer. (The source probably doesn't matter, so long as a UV title is added or imported. Non-UV titles appear to have no effect.)
                2. When VUDU completes the import/export process, the following changes take place to my VUDU account:
                  1. The new UV title is added.
                  2. An old, previously missing UV title is restored.
                  3. Two different, older UV titles will go missing.

So it appears as if UV changes may tickle problematic accounts. Hopefully that can now point some people in the right direction. Good luck, VUDU dev team!

One more today. I redeemed Man Up and lost Paul (Unrated). Gain a Simon Pegg movie...lose a Simon Pegg Movie.

                    Re: Missing Movies

I've complied a list of at least some of the titles I'm missing. I'm sure there are many more, so I'll update this as I find them. From the best of my recollection, these were UV redemptions on other sites(i.e. Flixster, Universal, Sony), so it appears to be some sort of glitch with VUDU linking to UV lockers.

                    Movies:
                    Casino

I can confirm it maybe not wise to redeem any movie on vudu until they fix it because everytime when a movie is redeem you will lose multiple movies from the collection even if its digital to disc or not anymore.

What about redeeming movies through other sites? Is it ok to choose Flixster for UV titles without risking losing anything VUDU?

BTW, how pathetic is it that I have to actually ask that question?

Very. We shouldn't have to fear losing movies in our vudu account due to redeeming or purchasing movies. Five days of this now. Five days of explaining to young children in my family why some of their favorite movies are gone. Vudu is our streaming service of choice. Let's face it, M-Go, Flixster, and Cinemanow leave a lot to be desired. But five days of this, is utter nonsense. I have other sub accounts missing movies in the 1000 range. I shouldn't have to put in hours of my time to figure out the titles.

                            Re: Missing Movies

Wow. I made VUDU my go to provider for redeeming everything since it seemed to have apps everywhere mainly for the game consoles where I do most of my watching. This is actually making re-evaluate whether I can even trust VUDU because of this incident. And who knows if they fix the problem and not all movies show up. The way they wrote it off as NOT their problem but UVVU's problem when it clearly isn't since all those movies and TV shows are showing up in Flixster and Cinemanow.

Just joined to say I am missing a bunch of movies now too, entire library was all there in VUDU last week and now the missing movies are only in UVVU/Flixster/CinemaNow.

                              At a glance I've noticed I'm missing:

                              2 Broke Girls Season 1
                              Person of Interest Season 1

                              21 Jump Street
A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas
                              Accepted
                              Batman Begins
                              The Bourne Supremacy
                              The Bourne Ultimatum
                              I,Robot
Lord of the Rings fellowship of the ring extended edition
                              The Matrix Revolutions
                              Mission Impossible 1
                              Mission Impossible 2
                              Mission impossible 3
                              Oceans Thirteen
                              Sherlock Holmes 2
                              Shrek 2

There's more I'm missing (that were in VUDU last week), I'll have to check against my old screen shots of my VUDU library. Hope this can be fixed, love VUDU, it's worked great for years, don't want to be unable to see my full library in VUDU.

                                Re: Missing Movies

Hopefully it won't take much longer to resolve.

Now that customers are adding more content either via Ultraviolet or directly via vudu more problems are emerging beyond the issue of vanishing movies and UV content not porting at all.

Existing content should never disappear simply from adding new content.

If I had to guess... It seems likely that last Monday evening or Tuesday morning some new code went live, whether it is on the uvvu end or the vudu end remains to be seen.

Now that a problem has been identified, the logical step would be to roll back whatever change(s) had been made, so hopefully either vudu or uvvu can make that happen as soon as possible.
