And, no, I don't have an external disc drive. This sucks.

as an alternative, there is the WalMart photo counter (D2D in-store).

Personally, I like it better. It is not apart of the 50% rebate offer though.

      No way.

      1) They stamp the disc.

      2) No 50% off.

        True, but...

You get to make new friends who work at the photo counter. I am on 1st name basis with them all.

You can get yourself a slurpee on your way home and watch your HDX title in style.

          1) NYC doesn't have Wal-Mart. I'd have to do it on a rare trip to see my family.

          2) I watch Blu-ray in style. HDX is just a back-up for random times. At $1, I can't pass it up.

If you can smell it, you've gone too far and hit Elizabeth, NJ.

I have used this method as well and have no issues. It appears that the software cannot be used anymore to recognize a DVD in a blu-ray drive. Messed up, but it appears to be the same for all DVD's put into my blu-ray drive.

Oh well. small price to pay for all of the savings we are getting with the home beta right now.

Reboot your computer and come up into the system BIOS and check configuration settings for your SATA controller. If it's configured as "RAID" (or possibly a setting shown as a combo of RAID and something else) that's likely the cause of your drive not working properly to identify DVDs, but being OK with Blu-ray discs. At least in some cases, this configuration of the SATA controller that the drive is connected to leads to something behaving differently when the VUDUToGo app goes through verifying the DVD.

Presuming you aren't actually utilizing the RAID features, you would need to change this setting to AHCI. But before you do that, you have to also enable the AHCI driver in Windows, because in a system that is not configured as AHCI, the AHCI driver does not get enabled when you installed Windows. And without it, when you change the setting in your BIOS, you won't be able to boot anymore.

My old internal Blu-ray drive is still chugging along with either BD or DVD...YMMV

I am having the exact same issue with my Laptop. I cannot convert any of my 100+ DVD's, is there any new updates on this? I really would prefer to take advantage of the 50% discount that's currently running.

Please check your BIOS for RAID setup. We don't have any fix for the local configuration.

I have already checked this after RTFF, this is not the issue here. My laptop doesn't even have Raid as an option.

What's the ETA on actually being able to do this on our machines? I really want to use the discount and not take these to Wal Mart.

Your assertion about a DVD in a Blu-ray drive not working after the latest update may actually be something else environmental. I have had no global issues with DVD's in my blu-ray drive, just some discs so don't give up hope.

Of course, my blu-ray drive is in a Sony Laptop which I think significantly reduces possible environmental factors like raid settings, etc.
